The 'other side of the river' is something heard every day in Porto, especially among locals. But likely few visitors know what lays beyond the wine caves along the riverside.
On this tour, we showcase a non-touristy area full of homemade cuisine and alive with local culture. We'll walk through the winding, narrow streets of Gaia, visit the oldest winery in Portugal founded by King Joseph I and the Marques of Pombal, and discover both “classic” Porto food, such as the francesinha, as well as local secrets like alheira. Each tasting will be paired with local wine or beer.
While enjoying the stroll and tastings, you will learn about both Portuguese and regional history, not only from our guide but from the locals that adore to talk and share their experiences, all the while getting the best views over the city of Porto.

Our tour was by far one of the highlights of 17 days in Portugal. Beatrix was amazing and her curated tour couldn't have been better. We truly can't say enough about how wonderful Beatrix was and the food and port!

My wife and I had an incredible time with Gioçalo and Lio. Gioçalo did an excellent job explaining the history, process and nuances around port and it made for a very insightful experience and enjoyable tasting.
We loved the food at all of the stops and Gioçalo and Lio made it feel like we were out with friends showing around their city rather than a formal tour.
We would very highly recommend this tour!

This tour was amazing I had such a good time and the food was amazing!! It was very cool to see the cellar! Beatriz our tour guide was so nice and her trainee was also very kind and fun to talk with! Had a great time over all they were very sweet and made the tour fun!! They were very knowledgeable and I learned a lot

As a Porto native, our guide Gonçalo definitely knew his stuff, and we were very pleased that he took us a bit out of the touristy area. If you are visiting for a couple of days or a week, this tour is a must-do! All the food was amazing, and the wine cellar was a highlight. After the tour, Gonçalo went above and beyond to send us a list of additional recommendations for the rest of our visit. 5 stars from us

Diogo did a fabulous job leading our tour. We had a small group and had a great visit and tasting at the port producer and cellar. Also fascinating was his local knowledge as we walked through the neighbourhoods and spend some time at local eateries. Wholeheartedly recommend this tour.

Unfortunately it rained during our tour, but it was still a good trip. Guide (Diugo) was great. He gave us lots of fun information and went above and beyond when we had a health issue with a group member to make sure they could rejoin the group.
