WHAT TO EXPECT

Long road bridge from the 1990s connecting Vila Nova de Gaia and the center of Porto, with views over the Douro River. Of the bridges linking Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia, Ponte do Freixo is the one furthest upstream from the Douro river. It is, in fact, two bridges built in a portico side by side and 10 cm apart from each other.
2. Ponte de Sao Joao
Ponte de São João is a railway infrastructure that transports the Northern Line over the Douro River, near the city of Porto, in Portugal. Built to replace the 100-year-old Ponte D. Maria Pia, it entered service on June 24, 1991.
3. Ponte D. Maria Pia
Imposing arched railway bridge completed in 1877 and designed by the famous architect Gustave Eiffel. It is considered, together with the Viaduct of Garabit, as the greatest masterpieces executed by the engineer Gustave Eiffel. At the time of its inauguration, it was the bridge with the longest iron arch in the world.
4. Ponte Infante Dom Henrique
Ponte Infante Dom Henrique, also known as Ponte do Infante, is a road bridge that connects Vila Nova de Gaia to Porto, over the Douro River, in Portugal. Named in honor of Infante D. Henrique, born in Porto, it is the most recent and, according to many, the slenderest bridge linking Porto and Gaia. It was built to replace the upper deck of the Luís I Bridge.
5. Ponte de Dom Luis I
The most iconic bridge in Greater Porto. Arched bridge with road on the lower level and metro line on the upper level between Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. This construction replaced the old suspension bridge that existed on the same site and was carried out through a project by the Belgian engineer Théophile Seyrig, who had previously collaborated with Gustave Eiffel in the construction of the D. Maria Pia railway bridge.
6. Ponte da Arrabida
Ponte da Arrábida is an arched bridge over the Douro River. Since the 1930s, it was necessary to create alternative connections to the old bridges (D. Maria Pia and D. Luís bridges) in order to respond to the growing flow of road traffic. At the time of its construction in 1963, the bridge had the largest reinforced concrete arch of any bridge in the world.

Ancient monastery from the 16th century, located on top of a hill and notable for its cloister and round church. The monastery is considered one of the most remarkable buildings in classical European architecture due to its exceptional architectural value and the unique character of its church and cloister, both circular and with the same dimension. The church was classified as a National Monument in 1910 and in 1996, together with the Historic Center of Porto and the Luís I Bridge, it became classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
8. Jardim do Morro
Garden overlooking Rio and the city of Porto, a very famous space in our city.

Cais de Gaia is a tourist area with terraces, restaurants and bars, located on the left bank of the Douro River, in Vila Nova de Gaia, opposite the historic area of Porto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Portugal. For many centuries, a river port was located here, from which various goods were exported, with particular emphasis on Port wine.
10. Cais da Ribeira
Ribeira is one of the oldest and most typical places in the city of Porto, it is part of the Historic Center of Porto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On our first visit to Porto our yacht trip was fantastic! Antonio and his partner made us feel very welcome and were very safe boat captains. It was a beautiful boat and we highly recommend to see the beautiful cities of Porto and Gaia!

Such a wonderful river cruise, it was the perfect way to see Porto. Our driver was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and spoke English very well. We loved the Port and the cheese plate.

We had an absolutely amazing time on this private yacht tour. It was one of the highlights of our 12 day trip in Porto. Our hosts were warm, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable and they made our trip fantastic. We had my slightly handicapped mother with us and they were very accommodating & helpful with her needs. They were also wonderful with our young children. We were originally booked for an evening that turned out to be quite cool so I called and they happily moved us to an open spot the next day without any issue as my little kids would’ve been miserable.

Onboard, they offered us two lovely wines plus a beautiful charcuterie board. They also gave us lots of background on Porto and things we passed.

DO NOT SKIP this tour. I will definitely book again when I return to Porto!

Had a great time on this boat cruise through Porto, guides made us feel comfortable and relaxed, port and bubbles were a nice touch as was the large cheese board that was prepared for us. I would def recommend!

My husband and I booked this private experience for our 3 year wedding anniversary and it could not have made our day more special! The pick up location was easy to find and they were right on time. After a brief introduction of the boat, we were off! They offered to share some history of the bridges on the Douro River, but we were having so much fun taking in the sights on the bow that we more or less skipped that part. However, if you are interested in a history lesson, these are your guys! We started the tour with a glass of port wine and midway through they had an assortment of meats and cheeses with a bottle of sparkling wine which we thoroughly enjoyed. The tour was absolutely perfect in every way and it was amazing to see Porto from a different vantage point (and no walking!) after a couple of days of walking those hills. It was truly one of the most romantic experiences we have ever had and we would do it all over again if we could! The hospitality, the views, the music and the delicious wine were all worth it! 10/10 all around!!

Great time spent on a beautiful boat with excellent crew! As a group of friends we spent a very pleasurable few hours, sailing up and down the Douro and seeing all the sites from the river. The boat is well equipped and very clean, and the weather was fabulous so we enjoyed sitting up front and watching the sights and sounds of Porto and Gaia from the river itself. Historical commentary included or you could sit back and relax and listen to some tunes!

Would highly recommend this trip. We were provided with a lovely platter of meats cheeses and fruits, as well as drinks. It was a really pleasurable morning.

Just bear in mind that the pickup point is Freixo port about 15 minutes from the centre of Porto in a taxi so allow time to get there. Would highly recommend.

Such a fun and beautiful way to see Porto from the water! Loved being on a private boat and our driver and his first mate were delightful!! They served us a wonderful platter of cheese meats and crackers to go with champagne. Can bring your own drinks too. Highly recommend this perfect way to see the city. We did the late afternoon tour close to the sun setting.

We totally enjoyed our 2 hour boat cruise along the Duoro river. Antonio was very gracious and provided a beautiful cheese and meat tray along with port wine and sparkling wine for our group of 6. He even arranged for a van to pick us up at our cruise terminal so everything was easy and seamless. There was no waiting at all. The views along our river cruise gave us a great overview of Porto. We felt this was a very good value for the money. Totally recommend!!!

We had a wonderful experience and relaxing time. After two days of walking streets of Porto, we decided it would be nice to see the city from the river and pass through all the bridges. Champagne and snacks were great addition.
