Marni did a tremendous job! Great tour, beautiful tour very informative. She was fun and interacted with each of us to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. Port tasting was my favorite but I love port! Great explanation I learned lots. Lunch was good, plenty of food and wine. Wine tasting was great! Then a very relaxing boat ride before we drove back to Porto. Do this trip, don’t miss out on the amazing wine, views and fun!

Had an incredible day! Good weather made the day even better. Forgot the name of our tour guide but she was great - knowledgeable, fun, energetic and a good communicator. Highlights of the trip:
- winery tour and tasting - beautiful location and great, great tasting wine
- Douro River cruise was lovely. 1 hour is plenty and there were plenty of seats
- morning coffee break was timed well and gave us a chance to souvenir shop
Other parts
- lunch was OK. Nothing special. Would’ve been nice to be at a restaurant with a view or better food
- second wine tasting was also just OK. It was a tight space and not a winery but more of a wine shop. Would’ve preferred a second winery or more of a focus on olive oil
- wished we would’ve left sooner and gotten home sooner so it wasn’t such a long day
All in all a great time.

Our guide, Igor, was knowledgeable about Portuguese history, enthusiastic about the wine tours and considerate of the tour participants. Enough time was allocated at each site so adequate explanations could be given.
The driver was very competent.

It was a very rainy day but they split the group up so we had a tour on a smaller boat under cover which was nicer than being on a big group. Milena, the tour guide was friendly and made the trip fun. The food was homely and authentically Portuguese and the wine glass did not stopped getting filled during the lunch. Worth doing, even in the pouring rain the Douro valley is beautiful and the guides at the quintas were very knowledgeable.

Igor & his driver Ribirto were both fantastic!
It was fun, the group from many different countries were full of life, and the driver made us all feel safe during the entire trip!
Highly recommend. It’s all day (~9 hours) but very well worth 100 euro.

What an excellent and very full day! We met our guide, Ivo, at the meeting point close to our hotel. Initially it was a bit difficult to find him. Maybe a red lanyard would make it easier. What a day we had in store! The tour had only 18 or so participants, so we had a mini bus. Well worth just a few dollars more than the larger group tour. Ivo has a delightful sense of humor and made the trip an absolute blast. He explained some of importance of the schist rock to the terracing on the hills, the flavors in the grapes, and actually the protection of the plants from the harsh environment. We concluded that Schist Happens! We made one stop for restrooms and refreshments at a small town and Ivo said they might overcharge us, so ask for prices before we pay. Ivo told us the lunch choices so he could call it into the winery where we would eat. I wanted to taste the tomato rice although it wasn't part of the vegetarian lunch, and Ivo said it could be arranged. We stopped for a tasting and lunch at a very beautiful vineyard called Santa Julia in Douro Valley. Very picturesque. The food was good - note that we were seated with a large group from the same tour operator, so there were a lot of people in the dining hall. There was a river boat ride on a private boat, very relaxing. We hit a second vineyard and learned more about the making of Port wines, very interesting. And tastings there as well. After that, we were on our way back to Porto. It was a full day and got back around 6:45pm. Thanks to the great staff and wineries. We had a wonderful time.

The boat trip itself was a great way to relax, as the staff gave info on the local sights. The barbecue was excellent - really good and plentiful food, free-flowing drinks and the crew were great fun. Thoroughly recommend.

Our bus driver, José and our tour guide on the bus, Igor were absolutely fantastic! So very knowledgeable, kind, funny and charming! They not only drove us to and through the gorgeous Douro Valley to meet the boat tour and tour the 2 wineries , they went above and beyond explaining the history of Portugal. Truly wonderful men! My only comment is that there was only 1 bathroom to accommodate 2 groups of guests making long line ups . Perhaps even portable bathrooms could/should be available?
