This tour features a selection and variety of the best culinary delights that you will find in 5 different places in Porto. Walking through the most picturesque streets and the best places of its old town, you will discover the history of cuisine and traditional dishes as well as hear stories of some owners of "taverns" and more typical establishments.
TASTINGS:
Special coffee and a Custard Tart
Cod Cake and a glass of Red Wine.
Smoked meat, cheeses, bread, olives and a glass of Douro Red Wine.
Bifana (traditional pork spicy sandwich) and a beer.
3 different types of Port.

Ana was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and personable. She took us to various locations where we had delicious food and wine that were very unique to Porto. She placed the locations in historical and geographical context and took extra time to point out many side shops and places of interest. Even the 19 year old and 21 year on the tour remained entertained throughout. It was a wonderful tour!

The high review was down to the enthusiastic and informative Igor …not the tastings or locations we visited .
The first location was rather grubby and food not pleasant at all ; the coffee shop was OK but having the custard tart before a codfish cake was rather strange .
The wine tasting in the episerie was very good with the cheese and salami with white wine .
The three port tasting was good too .
The “taste in tube” shop was excellent but I thought that was an additional stop and not one of the 5?
Clearly the tastings should have been in dinner order with aperitif and snack followed by a fish taster then meat , desert and digestive with aperitif wine ( could be white port) then a white wine , red wine ( not provided) and port with coffee .
Value for money for what we had ..unfortunately not .
However , Igor was good value , eager to please and passionate about Porto .

Our guide, Chris, was really knowledgeable and genuinely cared and ensured that we were enjoying the tour. He knew his history and the Portuguese culture well. Great food and drink stops! Would definitely recommend this tour!

We experienced authentic Portuguese dishes in some of the oldest establishments. Our guide was very knowledgable, and had a good history of the region to share.

The guide, Fatima, was excellent and she took us in very traditional local places. Food and drinks were delicious.

Wow! This was one of the best tours I have been on! John was amazing and so informative about the history of Porta. We went through so many different areas eating great foods and drinking great wines, ports and coffee. He was able to give us so many recommendations of what to see in Porto as all of the fabulous restaurants that we could eat at. This tour is a must!

We enjoyed our tour with Anna Bakx. The pace was good and the selection of food delicious, we enjoyed the personal stories Anna shared about her family food history and her passion for Porto and food and port wine was engaging. Good value with the amount of food and drink available and a lovely way to get your bearings in the city and find some cafes and restaurants to try later in the stay.

We really had fun on our tour with Igor. He was very informative and had a friendly, helpful nature. We enjoyed the introduction to Portuguese
food and wine which had been produced locally.
