Our tour of Pompeii was wonderful. Our tour guide spoke great English and was a wonderful storyteller. I learned so much about the history of Pompeii and really enjoyed it!

We enjoyed very good overview of Pompei. Our guide was an archeologist who had been working on the site. She knew many interesting details.
Don’t go there without a proper guide, otherwise you’ll miss most of the best details and don’t know what to look for.

We were somewhere near Rome for a week. Pompeii is rightly regarded as a top attraction so as it was winter we picked a good weather day and booked on my laptop. For confidence we did it via Tripadvisor because we had not heard of the individual local tour companies. I paid online and had evidence on my smartphone. Everything went as planned. We paid for a guided tour at a specific time. We easily found the guide who had our names, and gave us earphones so we could hear him. We got a very good knowledgeable guide. I thought he was well-worth the extra price. I particularly recommend taking good shoes; I am quite old and appreciated having boots with extra ankle support. The guide covered quite a distance in 2 hours but apart from a mildly steep 3-minute climb at the beginning was not particularly gruelling. Of course we were not under cover, so be prepared for rain or hot sunshine. There is a café within the ticketed area with comprehensive facilities. After the guided tour was finished we could have stayed and wandered as we liked, but we chose to visit the small museum (called antiquarium) near one of the exits and then left. for us there were no troublesome queues but I believe at peak times of the year it gets very busy.

Viviana was a great tour guide. She really knew her stuff and could answer questions we had. She was very engaging and passionate about the history of Pompeii. She was also very considerate of the tour group, especially of the family with a baby and a toddler. Would 100% recommend her for this tour!

Pompeii was truly an amazing experience, the guide was informative, I never would have known the story if not for the guide. The area was much more uncovered than I had imagined it was. I wish we had time to wander around by ourselves, it is such a cool place.

We loved our tour guide (short lady with short hair)!! She made every question someone asked so important to her. It made us want to ask a question! Super knowledgeable and fun. We would definitely recommend it!
