We took the private tour of pompeii from Rome. Transfer was very comfortable with a very good informative driver (Fabrizio). Francesca was our local guide in Pompeii who really helped make the place come alive with the stories and information she gave. She also made it very accessible for our 12 & 9 year olds to understand. I highly recommend this company who use very knowledgeable and enthusiastic local guides.

Lia was an exceptional guide who brought Pompeii to life for us as a family. She is very knowledgeable and was able to speak to both an adult and child audience. What a great experience!
Our driver Fabrizio was also the best, meeting us at our door and on the way allowing an extra stop for the kids. He was equally knowledgeable about the sites along the drive from Rome to Pompeii and Sorento, but knew when to speak and when not to (i.e. when the kids were asleep!).
I would recommend LivTours to any family visiting!

We loved our day in Pompeii! Lia was a wonderful guide, very knowledgable and fun to engage with. She made it interesting for our late teen and early 20s kids. I would highly recommend this. LivTour made everything easy...excellent communication and service.

Natalia was a generous, kind guide who seemed to have infinite knowledge of Pompeii and Naples. It was a pleasure to spend the day with her and soak in the history. She made it interesting in a way that kept the attention of our tween. We all felt we learned so much and loved the experience.

LivTours arranged a private tour of Pompeii for us. Private van pickup and drop off for our group. A private Pompeii guide just for our group. It's a long drive and a whole day trip and more expensive but a private tour means you decide what do you want to do and when you do it. Both our driver and guide were excellent and professional. Pompeii is fantastic and standing in the ruins just brings history to life. January is low season but there were still some lines so being able to be flexible moving around helped. Hint, guide said the best time is between New Year and Easter, the low season and cooler weather. Summer is the worst. Hot and humid and visitors pass out or leave early because it's so uncomfortable (a lot of walking). After Pompeii the trip included lunch in Naples at a seaside resort cafe. Skip it. Naples is a traffic nightmare and the restaurant was crowded with tourists and meh (average food, poor service). We should have taken the driver's advice and gone to a nicer less busy restaurant away from all the tourists. Lesson learned.

Great tour. Our guide, Francesca, was awesome! I am so glad we did a tour and did not just get the audio thing there, or wander around ourselves. The tour was so informative, I loved learning about what life was like there, almost 2,000 years ago. Well worth it. We did 2 LivTours in Rome and they were so good, we immediately booked this one too! So glad we did. The tour was only me, my husband, and another couple. I really liked how it was a small group.

Carla was amazing! She guided us through the busy areas and found quiet spaces to talk and explain the past history we were observing.
She was very interesting, fun, and informative!
Definitely recommend a small tour-you get so much more out of the experience!
