5. Amalfi Coast
***If Pompeii, Amalfi & Positano option selected*** After some free time for a few last pictures of Pompeii and lunch (at own expense) the tour will continue further south along the picturesque seaside roads of the Amalfi Coast where the Dolce Vita was born. Here your breath will be taken away by the spectacular coastlines as the mountains cascade into the sea and romantic villages climb up the mountains like grapevines.
6. Positano
***If Pompeii, Amalfi & Positano option selected*** The winding roads will lead you to one of the most beautiful seaside villages that the Amalfi Coast has to offer, Positano. Here you will have free time to explore the meandering streets lined with artisanal local shops or just sit back and enjoy the incredible view while sipping the local specialty, limoncello! Whichever you choose you will be sure to remember your afternoon in this jewel of a seaside village.

• During summer months in rare cases of inclement weather or strikes, the crater of Vesuvius may be closed to visitors, therefore, if this is the case, it is replaced with a visit to Positano where you will get free time to explore the city.
• From early November to March the Vesuvius isn't accessible and it is replaced with a visit to Positano where you will get free time to explore the city.
• Option to upgrade to Pompeii, Amalfi Coast and Positano Small-Group Day Trip from Rome with private coach (Mt Vesuvius or Naples not included)
• Please be advised that in the case of events beyond our control, we may need to adjust our itinerary to ensure the safety, quality, and satisfaction of your travel experience.

Very well organized tour but it's a long day!
To begin with, through a series of unfortunate events, I missed my original tour which I realized a few hours after the tour started. I called City Wonders in tears but there wasn't much they could do. They suggested just showing up and maybe there would be a cancelation so we risked it and we were able to get on the tour!
Patrizia was wonderful on the bus, the Pompeii tour guide (whose name I regrettably forgot!) was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Julio the bus driver was fantastic! He navigated things beautifully.
We were then taken to a restaurant for a pizza lunch which was good. Food is included, drinks are not.
The hike up Vesuvius was really incredible. This part is self guided. It's not a terribly difficult hike for someone in decent shape/health. The hike up takes about 40 minutes (including stopping to take pictures).
The one negative is the surprise stop at the end at a free limoncello tasting. It was suggested to us like people asked to stop but it was clear that it's something the tour company has arranged with the store owner. It's not necessary on what is already a long day. I know at least one person missed their train because of the additional stop and we missed our hotel pick up and had to find a cab from the not terribly populated area where the tour ends. I know it says that the time could change because of unexpected things but this wasn't like a flat tire or traffic.
Overall, I am happy I did this tour and I thank City Wonders for allowing me on the bus that morning!

An amazing and well organised tour. The tour guide (Antoneno) and bus driver (Umberto) were both very professional and helpful for the entire duration. We did the Positano/Amalfi Coast option and were amazed by the beauty of the small town. We would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit Pompeii as the small town of Positano on the way was perfect (though the steep hills and many stairs are something to consider for less abled visitors)

I enjoyed the guides energy, sense of humor and knowledge. My big complaint about the tour is that time was wasted at a surprise “limoncello tasting” / sales gimmick. I would have liked more time at Pompeii but felt this was compromised as a result.

Well organized tour and good value given the distance from Rome. It's a long day ...13 hrs...but the bus is comfortable and the scenery is lovely. Pompeii is a definite 'must see' and the Pompeii tour guide was exceptional. Positano was too crowded and expensive to really enjoy especially after the Pompeii tour.

Our driver was great and our bus tour guide managed a transportation issue swiftly. She was informative, however, unfortunately, she talked incessantly, from Rome to Pompeii and on to Positano and listening to someone talk for hours on end is irritating. If she had curtailed her monologue and given us some peace and quiet (on the return she talked for hours with the driver) I would have given this a 4.5.

I apologize if this review stings but I feel this has to be shared and there's no private place to share it.

Too rushed. No time to shop at Pompeii. Our guide didn’t even give a bathroom break!! Our stops on the bus were rushed and couldn’t shop there either!!

Teo and Fabrizio were an excellent driver and guide combo. I enjoyed Fabrizios stories and background on the trip. Logical stops and didn't feel like too much time on the bus.

We booked the Pompeii/ Vesuvius Cone Hike day trip from Rome. Although the weather was not our on side, Eduardo was brilliant at educating us throughout day when seeing the famous sights of Italy. The food was great before our ascend up Vesuvius and the day was organised well. We even visited a Limoncello Factory which was a fantastic visit at the end of the day! Recommend this trip to anyone!

Unfortunately the memories ate very few. What was advertised as a Pompeii day trip amounted to a one and a half hour visit to Pompeii out of a 14 hour day. We didnt even have time to visit the gift/book shop. In addition the coach arrived back in Rome after the metro had closed leaving us stranded.

Claudia is a 10/10 tour guide. Do not hesitate to book this once in a life time excursion. It will take all day but it is definitely worth it.
