Enjoy a 2-hour guided tour exploring the details of this one-of-a-kind ancient city while uncovering moments of terror frozen in time, death postures, and ruins unchanged from almost two millennia ago. Stroll along the ancient streets where perfectly conserved ancient bakeries, shops, stalls, private and communal residences, public baths, and yes, even brothels remain!

Upon conclusion of the guided tour in Pompeii, we’ll visit a historic pizzeria serving some of the most authentic pizza Pompei has to offer (and remember, we’re in the birthplace of Italian pizza, so it’s a competitive market)! After lunch, we’ll make the short ride back to the heart of Naples for more exploring.

Take in the breathtaking view of the Bay of Naples from Posillipo, where the famous saying “See Naples and die” will suddenly make perfect sense. While Vesuvius looms in the distance, take in one of the most naturally and artistically beautiful cities in the world from a stunning vantage point.

Excellent tour guide Paula spoke to the group and was very knowledgeable. Pizza lunch was very good, but they should add salad instead of fried food appetizers.

Very well organized and seamless travel on bullet train. Well worth the money.

Took away one star because the tour did not include touring, on foot, Naples. We were dropped in the shopping district and left on our own. The listed sites in the Naples description were not visited.

I went on the tour of Pompeii and Naples with Maria as our guide (I think that was her name...). It was a good experience, she had a wealth of knowledge to share and was very friendly! The tour of Naples part felt a little bit like it was just tacked onto the side of visiting Pompeii and wasn't that exciting. But Pompeii and lunch were very good.

This was a good day with a fantastic lunch in Naples, and touring Pompeii was really interesting in that you see a lot of very well-preserved Roman art and buildings. I wish there had been an overview, at least, of the town layout before we started charging from one place to another - the more so as the streets and sidewalks are tough to navigate without spraining an ankle, I was too busy focusing on where I put my feet to look around as we walked. Mariarosa was extremely careful for our comfort all day, and we were met by someone at the Termini to make sure the group got on the correct train. Overall, a pretty good day.

Exceptional, a highlight of our Italy trip. Fast trip by high speed rail from Rome to Naples and back was easy and well coordinated. Air conditioned bus took all of the stress out of navigating from the Naples train station to Pompeii. Lunch was very very good at a local Napoli restaurant serving authentic pizza, appetizers, and dirnks. Our guide was exceptional, she knew Napoli and Pompeii intimately providing context we could have never known otherwise. I would highly recommend this day trip to anyone interested in visiting Pompeii as an excursion from Rome.

We had a wonderful day with our knowledgeable guide, Paula (and a very good driver, Luca). We’re so thankful that someone met us at the train station to show us how to take the train (it helped us a lot!l)! Pompei is so large that we couldn’t see it all, but we saw some excellent pre-selected areas that were preserved beyond our expectations! The pizza lunch was divine (though we didn’t need the appetizers). We definitely recommend this trip!

Did the Pompeii and Naples by High Speed Train Tour.
When booking we felt that it was pretty pricy but having done the tour we believe it is worth the price.
We were met at the train station by a company rep and escorted to our carriage. The train journey was very comfortable and only took an hour. At the train station in Naples, we were met by our Tour Guide, Rosarie, who was an excellent guide. She was friendly, courteous and kind and spoke in a clear voice that was very easy to understand.
When we arrived in Pompeii, we were given a radio set with an ear piece which made it possible to distinctly hear Rosarie's commentary. The excavated site at Pompeii is fascinating and huge. It is unbelievable what was uncovered there and in how preserved some of the art work is. Rosarie gave us such detailed insights into life there at the time of the eruption. It was fascinating. After our tour here we were brought to a local restaurant for a delicious lunch. This consisted of starters, a selection of Neapolitan Pizzas( baked on site) for the main course and a desert desert. It also included either wine or a soft drink. The restaurant even offered gluten-free options for those who required them. We then had some free time before hopping back on our very comfortable bus back to Naples where we were given an opportunity to take photos of the lovely Naples Harbour. Following this a short but lovely walking tour in the city. After some free time we again boarded the bus for our trip back to our train. After Rosarie informed us of our platform, we said our good byes and boarded our train back to Rome. It was a fascinating and extremely enjoyable tour.

Great excursion and a wonderful way to get a taste of Pompeii and Naples. Very easy to navigate train transportation. Our guide Rosella was awesome. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. The lunch was delicious and there was more than enough to eat. We had a great group of fellow travelers which enhanced the experience. Highly recommend!

This was an excellent tour. It was great to get down to Naples so quickly by train and then out to Pompei by mini-bus. The site is fascinating and unforgettable and much bigger than I imagined. The lunch at the vineyard finished off a great day and we enjoyed the wine tasting even though I'm not a wine drinker!

Meeting location was easy to find. It was very organized. The high speed rail was fantastic. Tour guide was excellent. She was funny, knowledgeable, and experienced. Communicated everything every step of the way. When entering Pompeii, she guided us through areas that were not so crowded as to avoid wasting time. The tour culminated with lunch that was excellent and very filling. It was raining but that didn't stop us. We stopped in Naples for a bit and was given personal "free" time to explore. Everything was worth it. I highly recommend this tour. I traveled with elderly parents (may be difficult walking Pompeii) and two children. All had a great time. It can be a little fast pace, but usually due to crowds. Overall it was worth it.
