Picked up very close to our accommodation, very friendly tour guide and comfortable ride out in the van as only a small group. The guide matched our groups speed and took us on a longer track as it was out of peak season.
Despite the rain, it was absolutely beautiful and not that cold! It was definitely a highlight of our time in Europe and would absolutely recommend going out of peak season as you can see more due to shorter lines, take photos without people in the background and you get a super cheap ticket! Oh and due to the small group, we took a van instead of a bus which cuts about 45 mins off our travel time allowing for more time in the park - hence the longer track he took us on! Absolutely recommend this place - you won’t be disappointed!

Very lovely experience, the park is pretty quiet this time of year, November. We caught the good weather and got to see the fall colors on the trees as well as very full, lovely waterfalls. The guide Elena made this really fun as well. She's witty and great to be around. Her descriptions of the history throughout the areas we passed on the bus were probably my favorite part. She makes everything interesting and has unique perspectives. Thank you also to Ante, the driver of the bus shuttle. He was punctual and drove smoothly. Highly recommend!

Ante and Elena were AMAZING! We had the best day. we had the park to ourselves due to the off season and we all felt like VIPs. Elena was very knowledgeable and answered every question the group had happily. The tour started out with a 1.5 hour drive, then a bathroom break/breakfast stop and then back in the car for another 1.5 hours. Arrived at the park and were toured around for 4 hours. So many waterfalls and lookout points. One view was nicer than the next! The hike was easy with only a few uphill sections. After the park tour was over, Elena suggested a lovely restaurant 15 minutes from the park for a late lunch. It was delicious - get the mushroom soup!
We would happily go on this tour again!

It was an amazing tour with an amazing guide. The views are absolutely spectacular and the day is very well scheduled and planned out. The bus ride was also very enjoyable and had a very nice driver and bus.

What a beautiful and well organized tour! We HIGHLY recommend! Our guide - Elaina?? - was just wonderful with everyone on the tour, from young children & "tweens," to seniors and a lot of indepent, "go their own way" hikers. She managed to keep all of us engaged and together as a group during a full day of hiking, organizing plenty of appropriate photo stops, bathroom breaks and snack options, always telling us in advance what to expect. Great sense of humor, articulate English, and insightful grasp of national cultural history, as well as knowledge of the park itself. Although the bus ride is a bit long, the driver was wonderful and it gives a chance to see the Croatian countryside and experience a day in one of the great wonders of the natural world. Delicious restaurant stop, too: Plan to eat a delicious full meal!

Although it’s a pretty early start for the day, it is so worth it! The bus ride from Split to Plitvice is about 3 hours, but my tour guide, Barry, gave us information about the surrounding area and about Croatia in general. He also gave us most of the trip to rest quietly. We stopped about half way through the drive for a restroom break and snacks. Once in the park, Barry was very communicative about expectations and our plan for going through the park. He has a great route established and gives plenty of time for pictures and walking at your own pace (the group stops to meet at each intersection in the trail). The park is stunning and also huge! Although you can enter without a tour guide, I recommend going with one for benefit of not having to navigate the trails on your own. After the hike (which takes about 4 hours), we went to a local lunch which was great (not included, but worth it!). We also stopped for a break on the bus ride back into Split. Overall wonderful experience and such a beautiful park!
