My class and I (no I am not a teacher, I'm a student) went to a field trip here. Everyone was excited because they were gonna get to see a lot of animals. But it turned out to be a huge disappointment. I was really hoping to see the fennec foxes and maned wolves but the maned wolves were asleep and the fennec foxes. Also looked forward to seeing the wolves and coyotes but they were also not there. In fact, most of the exhibits either had no animals or very few, like 2. There wasn't much to keep the animals occupied and they all looked depressed and even abused. Not to mention it was *very hot* the day we went to the zoo so you can imagine how the animals felt. The food, drinks, and stuff at the gift shop were way overpriced. At least the staff were nice. My advice would be to not visit this zoo. I would suggest Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium & Safari Park, it is way better than this zoo.

Phoenix Zoo Phoenix Zoo is a city-level zoo covering an area of 125 acres.
There is an African animal area, a tropical animal area, a children's animal area and an Arizona animal area. There are approximately 3,000 species of animals in the park
The park is only open until 2 p.m. in summer. It is recommended to visit during the cooler season.
The park planning is comfortable and the interactive experience and learning are great!!

The zoo was large, there was a lot of nature... a lot of flora and fauna; however, some animal exhibits were closed or the animals were hiding (monkeys, elephants, hyenas, giraffes, and more). There was classical guitar playing across the large pond (live? Streamed in?), but it added an overall sense of peace and joy. I also enjoyed the sanctuary side of the zoo. I almost missed it. If you're looking for peace, quiet, and an escape from the chaos of life, the Phoenix Zoo is a great place to escape. :)

Not a accredited zoo! So why not I ask myself why.? Something must be wrong here.
Not up to standards. I hate to see animals in small areas for our entertainment.
They deserve a better life
In a sanctuary. Why visit a non accredited zoo?
Horrible.

The zoo was large and lots of animals. Love the winding paths. Many stops to sit on a bench and enjoy the views. Several food options throughout the zoo.

Came here to fill up part of a day while on vacation in Arizona. I do go to zoo's decent amount of time while on vacation. Overall hard to complain about the animals at the zoo. Some good experiences with the animals they had.
My main annoyance was the price of the zoo then additional cost for other things at the zoo. I can't remember what it was but they were charging $3.00 for non members to do something in the zoo. Why not just make it free? I think most people already expect to spend more than they'd like on food/drinks. But when you get in the zoo & have to pay extra for things it just makes me shake my head.
Some areas can get pretty crowded & because of the layout doesn't allow a lot of room to move around. Especially when you have large baby strollers every where.
Overall, in terms of quality it's not bad but just expect to spend some $ especially if you have a family with you.
