Discover the Path of the Gods with an insider. Hike togheter one of our professional guide, working and living in this place since 10 years:
This wonderful hike starts in Piazza Paolo Capasso (Bomerano, suburb of Agerola). The walk follows the mountainside passing through old vineyards on terraces and the typical Mediterranean vegetation. Along the walk you will face a stunning view, from Positano to the tip of the Peninsula and Capri, overlooking the sea. The path passes by small hamlets and arrives to Positano along a typical stairway of the area.
Trail specifications:
4.5 miles / 7 Km (2 Km more to Positano)
About 3 hours (1 hour more to Positano)

Italy is known for its food. I indulged in pasta every day during my weeklong vacation on the Amalfi Coast. So...what better way to earn my tagliatelli than to hike the Path of the Gods? And what an amazing hike it is! As the name suggests, this is the most majestic trail on the Amalfi Coast. Our guide, Enrico, is highly educated in all things great outdoors. Not only is he a wealth of knowledge, but he is also an all around nice guy with the gift of communication. There were plenty of hikers on the path that were solo, but I felt like I had an ace up my sleeve with a private guide. Thank you Cartotrekking and Enrico for guiding us on this amazing journey!

The tout started from Bomerano bus stop to Positano with Marco, my private tour guide for the hike.
He was very knowledgeable with the course, history, plants and animals, food and had walked the trail with checking out its safety sometimes even if navigate.
The tour (Path of the God) goes almost 6 miles (10 kilometers) hike and necessary at least trekking shoes.
Usually it takes almost one day for the ordinary Amalfi tour (going to Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello) and can see beautiful scenery, but it is possible to see lots of fantastic scenery only 2.5-hour tours.
If anyone can speak English and can hike this distance (10 kilometers) I strongly recommend this tour.

We spent a sublime morning with Enzo, our guide. He made the experience all the better, as a native Positanian with knowledge of history, anthropology, sociology, geology and sundry other topics. It was good exercise - tough, but not exhausting, and ultimately edifying. He led us through the winding pathways and curated sights along the way, including a thousand-year-old Moorish house, an ancient lime kiln and an equally-aged rock-garden installation. (See photos.) Our only regrets: not posting this review sooner, and having to return to Texas from Positano!

Marco was very knowledgeable and made the hike very interesting and fun!! The hike took approximately 3 hours from Bomerano to Nocelle. We chose not to walk the stairs into Positano as advised by Marco….Great decision! The PofG hike wasn’t difficult, but did involve some climbing over rocks. I consider myself a somewhat fit 60 yr old.

My guide Enzo was fluent in English and we talked the whole time about the culture and history of area. I enjoyed every minute of the relaxed pace! I would do it again! I liked being outside away from the crowds. I had to get transportation to start from Agerola which took about over an hour. I met a lovely local woman in the piazza as I waited for a guide who showed me where I could get water and where the facilities were . She was extremely helpful . She wanted to converse to help practice her English! I felt like she was my little Italian grandmother who came back to life! What a welcoming experience!

Book this trip now with Marco if possible. Marco was an incredible guide. It was just us which was a pleasant surprise as we thought it would be a large group. He is a sincere and genuine person with so much knowledge and passion about what he does and his local community. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with Marco. He shared the history of Path of the Gods, showed us a variety of herbs, talked about local traditions, gave us time for photos and so much more. The views AND our time with Marco was equally memorable. Grazie Marco! You will very much enjoy this beautiful experience!

Vincenzo was a great tour guide. He gave us a thorough history of the Amalfi coast and the flora and fauna of the region as we hiked. He took pictures of my wife and I at the most picturesque points in the journey. Moderately tough hike from Agerola to Nocelle. Highly recommend it. Bring a couple of bottles of water.

Started at trail head with Mario, our guide for the hike. He was awesome, very knowledgeable and had walked the trail in reverse to check out its safety to navigate , as there had been a lot of rain that week.
This is a difficult hike and not recommended if you're fear of heights exceeds your fear of climbing rocks, walking on the edge of cliffs or your desire to experience a once-in-a-lifetime hiking adventure. Trail is approx 3.5 miles and took about 3.5 hours to finish in Nocelle, where we caught a bus back to Praiano.
Definitely recommend this and do it with an experienced guide
