Bacalar is one of our favorite places!. As soon as your cruiseship arrives to Costa Maya Port, take part of our adventure at the Seven Color Lagoon or Bacalar. A famous old haven for pirates where now you can relax, swim or enjoy a kayak ride in the refreshing waters of the seven color lagoon.

This experience take place in the second largest lagoon in Mexico that offers magnificent shades of blue on sunny days.

Join our amazing kayak tour to the springs and creeks of the Seven Color Lagoon and take a short hike through the jungle.

The place is perfect for kayaking and swimming or simply relax eating some delicious fajitas with your favorite drink at the edge of the lagoon enjoying the breeze and incredible landscape.

Bacalar is definitely a must if you are at Costa Maya! We recommend this tour if you are an adventurer or just looking to relax away of the crowds.

This was a great day off our cruise! Allen was our guide and he was awesome! He was kind and informative. The kayaking is moderate, but not for people who do not know how to do it. It takes about 30-45 min for the tour. Allen had to go back out and pull/drag a couple people all the way back in as they couldn't paddle. (He's amazing, and smiled the whole way!). Don't panic though, I think that's rare, as we paddled next to an 8 year old in his own kayak, for the tour and he did great! The area is secluded, beautiful and the drinks were real! Thanks Allen, Fernando (he also pulled back a couple people who didn't know how to paddle) and our sweet bartenders for a fun day!❤️. You all are the best!

We had a wonderful day at Bacalar Lake. Our driver, Edgar, and tour guide, Alan, were amazing. Alan gave us lots of information as we traveled to the lake. The van was air conditioned which was much appreciated because it was hot that day. The resort we went to was beautiful. We had use of feee loungers before and after kayaking. The kayaking was beautiful and lots of fun. Alan guided our group so we knew exactly where to go in the water. Once we returned to the lake we were given a great lunch of tacos and unlimited drinks (alcoholic and nonalcoholic). The pina coladas and margaritas were very good. After lunch we could lounge, take kayaks back out, or use inner tubes to float around. We arrived back at port with plenty of time to spare and shop. It was a beautiful place and lots of fun!

The hardest part was getting out of the port and finding the pickup. But once there, it was easy check in and the ride was in a comfortable van with A/C and a very kind driver. We arrived at a very beautiful, quaint private resort (first group to arrive which I rec) so we could choose our beach chairs and went on the kayaks. We had a nice time - returned to a wonderful taco meal all you can eat and drink. Alan was a WONDERFUL host and my family rated this our top excursion on our cruise.

Well out of Belize City (a bit over 1 hour) and down a long unpaved road off the main road is a BEAUTIFUL little resort which provides good food, free drinks (think Pina Coladas) good swimming (Bring water shoes if you have them as the big rocks in the water are slippery at times), and a very nice 40 minute or so Kayak tour (Good exercise). The water is wonderful and NOT salty.

I honestly can't recommend this excursion enough. There were 6 of us in a group ranging from age 23 to 73. I was worried about my aunt being able to kayak with us but they had both single and tandem kayaks to choose from so she was just fine. You do have to leave the port to find the meeting point but they give very detailed directions to find them. The drive sounds long but we had an AMAZING tour guide, Elliott, who gave so much information about the area that it felt like just 10 minutes had passed. The tacos are awesome, the drinks were flowing, and the water was beyond beautiful. The kayaking itself was very calm and relaxed. If you're on the fence of booking, take my word for it and do it! It was a once in a lifetime experience. Sure you can stay at the cruise port but this is way more special and memorable.

Awesome experience! The walk to the kiosk is about 15 minutes. The driver was great as was the tour guide. Beautiful resort! Water was gorgeous and kayaking was fun! The bathrooms and changing rooms were better than expected, clean and soap and water available to wash your hands! Amazing food and drinks too!

Too long to get there, very bumpy road, limited seating under shade, minimal lunch. Poor instructions on meeting point and name of vender.

We bought our excursions over 3 months ago. When we showed up, the tour operator had oversold the excursion, and they did not have space for us. However, he did have our names down. So he would have ran into the issue anyways. He blamed it on Viator, and that they are hard to work with. I am an ex travel agent and have booked hundreds of tours via Viator, and have never had an issue with them. We would teamed up with another excursion and had to go drop them off first, and then to proceed to ours. They never took ownership, just kept blaming it on other things.
