I had a great time on this tour. The boat was nice, food was good, staff was great. We had 2 separate times to head out to snorkel/dive. There were options for strong swimmers and not so strong swimmers for snorkeling. Breakfast options, lunch buffet, cheese and crackers on the way back in, and dessert options at the end. Such a great way to experience the GBR

Staff are super attentive and very experienced. Our day trip was the first good weather in two weeks however the sea was choppy. Staff recommended flotation vests and wet suits to stay warm and reduce fatigue which proved spot on advice. Staff have names for large fish that visit the boat daily and many swam nearby. You will see vasts amounts and types of fish and coral including giants clams. Safety is paramount and well done. Top quality snorkel gear and have prescription dive masks if you normally wear glasses. Meals plentiful and rustic but good. Felt they could have used fancier serving plates for the pastries as a first impression it looked cheap for this expensive luxury day out.

I highly recommend Ocean Freedom for visiting the Great Barrier Reef. The boat wasn't at capacity so it was nice and spacious. Going to the Great Barrier Reef was always going to be a great trip as there is a lot to see (including turtles) but what made the trip really positive (despite the waves) was the really great staff. They were all friendly and attentive, nothing was too much hassle. I decided not to dive on this trip due to a past negative trip elsewhere in the world but if I ever come back to the GBR I would definitely use these guys as they came across as really patient and knowledgeable.

Amazing experience with most warm and hospitable crew! The entire experience was very positive. I also attempted 2 assisted scuba dives. This was supported by good equipment, training and accompanied by instructors. I have limited swimming skills, which were not tested at all. The corals and sea life on dive spot 2 was sparse and disappointing. Snorkeling was fun. Glass bottom boat ride overrated.
Crew made the experience special.
Overall very happy, would repeat.

The whole experience was brilliant. The boat was very comfortable, the staff were very friendly and attentive to all our needs. Made for a very enjoyable day. Lunch and snacks were great. Enjoyed the prawns and smoked salmon. We really felt welcomed by all the crew

The entire experience, starting from check in, to the ever smiling and enthusiastic crew, to the amazing guided snorkelling in the reef, was outstanding! We saw some beautiful fish, a blue spotted sting ray, a turtle and a massive barracuda! All the names I remember from the crew - Blair, Alexa, Mike, Ben the Skipper, Molly, Shaan, and everyone else who I missed, were a pleasure to be with! Thank you for a memorable trip out to the GBR!!

We took our 3 kids (youngest 12) out with ocean Freedom to see the reef and do our first introductory scuba dives. We had the best day. The reef, boat, snorkelling and scuba were all amazing, but it’s the crew that make the day. The boat only takes a small number of people and the crew go out of their way to make sure everyone is having a good time. The scuba instruction was excellent and one of my most treasured memories will be snorkelling along after the kids watching them do this for the first time. So proud of them and grateful to the crew for making it such an easy and stress free experience. We’ve been to the reef with one of the larger operators with a pontoon before and this was so much better. Definitely recommend!

We recently participated on a Ocean Freedom Great Barrier Reef cruise. What impressed us was the professionalism of the hard working staff. Top marks for the skipper and his crew. Friendly,hard working and organized. Our weather caused the water to be a bit choppy while at the reef and did impact the visibility to a small degree. It was a sobering experience to see the effects of recent extreme warm ocean temperatures on the health of the reef. The bleaching we saw was eye opening.
We found the food to be plentiful and tasty.
The only negative was that, despite the fact that we are very experienced snorkellers , we were put with beginners and made to hold on to a life ring and be towed about by a guide. Other participants with snorkelling experience were allowed to go short distances on their own as long as they were in pairs. We felt that our age ( 60s) was a factor in being grouped with novices who had no idea how to snorkel and kept kicking us and hitting us with flailing arms. We did ask numerous times to be allowed to go off a few meters on our own but our requests were ignored. We were disappointed at our lack of freedom as snorkellers who have had many independent snorkelling experiences in Hawaii ,the Caribbean, Florida, Mexico, etc.
