Time at the plantation is pretty short. The real highlight of the trip is Kin, the bus driver. He is creative, colorful and authentically-New Orleans. Full of great restaurant recommendations and things to do in the city. Kin made this tour well worth the time/money. We took this tour at the end of our NOLA visit. Should have done it at the beginning.

We had a great time visiting Oak Alley! Kin, our bus operator, was engaging and informative both about the plantation system and many other details of life in the antebellum South. He pointed out many interesting things along the way as well. Highly recommend!

We booked our trip for 1 pm on Dec 26, 2023. We arrived over 30 mins early and spoke to a staff member who approached us while we waited (assuming he is a driver). He confirmed where we were going (Oak Alley). We asked if he could go across the street and get a coffee. He assured us we could and we wouldn't be leaving until 1 pm. We get back (before 1 pm) and he is gone and there is a bus there for an entirely different tour. We had been waiting for over 1 hr by this point. We eventually spoke to the staff at the ticket booth and got rescheduled for the next day. That day, we get on the bus (finally). The driver is nice however the mic doesn't work for the whole ride so we have no idea what she was saying along the way about the stops she was showing us. Apart from the transportation, the actual site was nice. The plantation is nice, holds a lot of history, and the guided tours at the plantation are informative.

The tour was fine and the Gray Line driver Dwayne was very good. The bus however needed a deep cleaning and several of the video monitors were missing. It’s the Gray Lime bus part that brings the review to three stars.

The bus driver was very knowledgeable and shared alot of information with us before arriving. The house and grounds were stunning, and the slave quarters that were reestablished for the museum very done very well, albeit it very very sad. Nice cafe, shops and bar and the tour guide was also very knowledgeable.
