On this full-day tour, you'll be driven to the Oak Alley Plantation House, then see the Cajuns of the bayou living and surviving in harmony with the swamps. Located about an hour and a half outside the city of New Orleans, Oak Alley is one of the most magnificent plantation tours because of the 28, evenly spaced, huge Oak Trees that go from the river road to the Plantation House. Experience bayou living where here, the waterways are their highways. From the relaxed comfort of our covered New Orleans Swamp Tour Boats, you will drift slowly past a 2000 year old Indian Burial Mound, a Cajun cemetery and Fishing village! You may see the wildlife that made the Barataria Swamps the Crown Jewel of the Louisiana Purchase. If the 10:45am departure is chosen, these activities will be in reverse.

The tour of Oak Alley Plantation was very educational as it explained how slaves were treated on the plantation. The Swamp boat tour was great. Captain Ernie explained about life in the Bayou and took us to areas in the bayou where we could view alligators in the water. There was even one sunning itself on the bus of an old boat. He had a baby alligator on board that he allowed us to hold and explained how they grow. He was very informative.

Beautiful plantation, a little bit of a drive but worth it. Too bad I couldn't take any pictures but I do understand the concerns. Our guide was very informative

This was a worthwhile trip to get out of New Orleans and see some side attractions. The Oak Alley Plantation was terrific, although our plantation tour guide was just average. (I learned a lot more by overhearing some of the other tour guides and talking to them.) It's a beautiful property (maybe one of the nicest of the plantations, with all the oak trees and gardens) with a lot of interesting history, so it's well worth a visit. The swamp tour was fun, just to see a few gators in the wild, especially a big one our guide showed us. We were lucky that the weather was relatively warm and the sun was out, so we saw around three gators during our trip. (Don't expect to see a bunch of them; it's not a Hollywood movie set. And if it's not warm and sunny, they don't come out much.) I took the pontoon boat, and I was glad I did, because we could move around on the deck to get the best vantage points, whereas with the airboats, you are strapped into your seat the whole time (and they are super loud.) Worth a trip if you have the time. But if you have to pick one, go for the Oak Alley plantation tour over the swamp tour.

Beautiful plantation. The grounds are gorgeous. The history is incredible. The tree lined walkway is breathtaking and makes for the most beautiful photo.
The swamp tour was so fun! It’s amazing seeing these animals up close and in person. It made for a perfectly full day tour. Our captain found gators within five minutes on the boat and even surprised us by interacting with them! A day I’ll never forget.

First comment is why aircon must run at full power ? Sitting inside during hours is reason to catch cold, at this time, temperature is not so high lîke hot summer! I was suffering from cold blowing

Visit of plantation is interesting but not so much to see.
Swamp tour guide is great …

Organization about visitors to get to which bus among a few ones must be revised for back ride
