The Oak Alley plantation tour is one of the most magnificent plantation tours near New Orleans because of the 28 evenly spaced, huge Oak Trees that go from the river road to the Plantation House. The Greek Revival home dates back to 1837. Located on the grounds is a restaurant, blacksmith shop, Souvenir Shop and antique farm equipment. Next up is an airboat tour - hold onto your hat! Our New Orleans Airboat Swamp Tour is a high speed adventure that is part tour and part ride. Along the way, you will get a personal tour by your local Captain. Our airboats have stadium seating, so that the person in front of you does not obstruct your view. So, every airboat seat is great for experiencing the tour and viewing the wildlife.

The alligator tour was incredible a highlight of my trip! Our guide dewey was brilliant and went that extra mile! I enjoyed the plantation but not sure it’s a must do if you’re tight on time .

This was a long day 8 hours . The bus makes lots of stops for pick up and return . I must admit that the plantation to me was not that impressive. The grounds were beautiful.
The best part was the Airboat Swamp tour . A wonderful experience with excellent history about the area and the alligators 🐊. Our guide was excellent.

I rated this a 4 simply because the airboat swamp tour was amazing. We had so much fun and got to see alligators and learn more about them from our guide. Highly recommended experiencing this!

The plantation house/grounds were absolutely stunning but the tour itself was very disappointing - there are large groups (30) and we were herded in and out as quickly as possible. Our guide was very nice and did his job well - not his fault the groups were so large and he had to stay on schedule. There were several groups inside the home at one time.

Since we signed up for the plantation & swamp tour, we opted to grab a bite at the plantation site since that would be our only time to eat and by doing this we didn’t have time to explore the grounds or spend much time looking through the slaves housing.

The majority of the tour involved bus rides and we were shuffled onto several buses throughout the day. We did like that they picked us up where we were staying and dropped us back off.

I would recommend the swamp tour and I would recommend a plantation tour but not in the same day. I would also try to find a plantation tour with smaller group tours.

Airboat ride was awesome! Planation was beautiful (mint julep at the bar was better than the one at the big house) just beware you spend a decent amount of time on a bus driving between locations (on average about an hour to each location). Nice way to see more of just New Orleans!

The whole trip was sensational, however I thought the swamp tour was next level. We opted for the airboat tour which I highly recommend and our swamp tour operator was a guy called Dewey. He was extremely knowledgeable about the swamp lands and knew all the spots, can’t thank him enough.

Fun fun day! The airboat was so cool in the bayou, it was such a cool experience and Captain Dewey was awesome sharing the beautiful culture of Louisiana. The plantation was very nice, impressive as well as learning the history of slavery by visiting the plantation, which was mind opening. Thank you for making this tour.

We enjoyed both tours, though my favorite part was holding a baby gator! All of the swamp tour was amazing. Personally, I enjoyed the outside part of Oak Alley than the house tour. You hear about the atrocities that the slaves had to endure, but seeing everything is a different matter.
