We knew seeing the Aurora was highly unlikely because of clouds and snowfall, but we still had a great time! The yurt is warm and has a basic restroom. All staff were friendly. We started the tour by playing with puppies, then met most of the sled dogs. 9 dogs pulled 3 of us through the forest- it was peaceful hearing only the snow fall and the dogs' steps. Our musher, Jeremy, was great at answering our questions. Dinner was salmon with a dill sauce, asparagus, rice, a beautiful salad, bread, and a light peach cake with ice cream for dessert. They even put candles on it for by birthday! I definitely recommend this tour- it is worth the price even without the lights.

The only downside was the touring van smelled like cigarettes. I did a few tours during my stay in Fairbanks, and learned smelly tour vans is pretty common, though unpleasant for sure.

This was our favorite activity! Wendy was our guide and was very friendly and knowledgeable! Our hosts at the Yurt served us a beautiful and delicious salmon dinner! Some very friendly pups were on hand for us to pet while we waited for the Northern Lights! The dog sled ride in the dark was FUN! Our musher was so nice and funny! I forgot his name, but he was a Medical Supply tech in the military. Great guy! Would highly recommend this tour!

The meal was great, the hosts were very kind and easy to talk with. The musher was also great and answered a lot of questions.

The driver (Joseph) was good but shared a little too much of his own photos and talked more about himself.

We knew the Aurora’s are not always there; but not the fault of the company.

What an awesome experience! Dog mushing at night atop the Alaska Pipeline and into the silent, snowy woods, the only sounds were dogs breathing and sled runners on the snow. Tyler is a skilled and informative musher. Dinner back at the yurt, delicious salmon and rice, with snacks and salad prior to the meal. Pecan pie with ice cream for dessert. And friendly dogs to pet!

Ryan, our guide, was great taking us to and from our hotel safely and answering all our questions about life in Alaska. He kept checking to see if the Aurora was visible while we were warm in the yurt but unfortunately the cloud cover allowed us only a very dim view of what would have been, if clear, an awesome display. Still, the entire experience was amazing and was the highlight of our visit to Fairbanks.

We highly recommend this tour. Everyone from the shuttle driver (Jeff) to our musher (Jeremy) to Rolf and Peggy- was incredibly helpful and friendly. Seeing the aurora is always unpredictable because of the conditions required for good viewing. These people are open and honest about this. On our tour there was only a small haze due to cloud cover. Even without seeing the lights, the trip was well worth it. The dogsledding and dinner is incredible. There is a wealth of knowledge shared about dogsledding and the Alaska wilderness.
Any Northern Lights tour you choose to take is a risk because no one can guarantee you’ll see them on any given night. That being said, this tour left us feeling like we got our money’s worth even without a great showing by the aurora.
