The Northern Lights bus tour takes you out of Reykjavik city to see the bright dancing lights of the aurora. The Northern Lights are one of the most spectacular shows in Iceland and can frequently be seen during the winter months.

Comfortable coach, brilliant, friendly, informative guide. The bus stops are very busy as busses from EVERY different company all use the same bus stops but our guide was very clear reading out the names of the people she was there to pick up.

Really disorganised trip from start to finish. From the start of the trip there was absolute chaos with regards to finding the meeting point for the correct bus which was supposed to take us - since different tour companies meet at the same location it gets extremely chaotic with lots of people unsure of which bus to get on. There's no clear direction provided and even though each bus has a list of people, there's no clarity or adequate information to determine which is your correct bus. Our bus was also late, to the point where we ended up leaving at 2115 instead of our scheduled departure time of 2030. The guide we had was the highlight of the trip - Joanna was lovely and she did a really good job making us feel welcome and giving us some really interesting information on the northern lights. We caught a small glance of the lights which was fine, and had a nice spot where we stopped which had a nice indoor resting point with indoor seating and bathrooms, which was nice to have. They also served us hot chocolate which was a nice touch. However I was disappointed we only got to check the lights out from one location. There was also no clear direction on timings - with this sort of activity you're working around nature and can't be fixed and regimented with time, however this was not really made clear from the start and no broad timescales were provided, meaning we had a very late finish in Reykjavik whilst having already planned for an early start the following morning.
There are definitely better and more organised trips to go and see the northern lights, my genuine advice would be to pay the extra cash, go for a more comfortable organised and thorough trip. Don't expect to catch the lights on one night - so many factors to take into account.

Mix up with pick ups and transfers on the night. However, the host was excellent. We didn’t see the light in this occasion but not through lack of effort from the team.

I would not recommend this tour because the success rate is too minuscule compared to the expense and time spent on the bus. It is no one’s fault when you don’t see the lights, as Mother Nature is clearly in charge, but still a shame! Family of 5 costs 310.00!

Guide was great, unfortunately we didn’t get to see the lights. Will need to return another time.

Amazing Northern Lights hunt tour. We drove to a place were we could see the stars. We spend about 2 hours waiting for the lights to show up. Sadly they were not in full display in the night sky as we were wishing for, but we could take some nice pictures. Our tour guide Rachelle was wonderful, made the tour exciting with the stories and her kindness.

Tour was scheduled for 9:30. Told us to come 30 minutes early. Bus did not end up coming until 10:40. Waited outside in the cold (about 17 degrees fahrenheit) for over an hour and a half. Multiple buses from Bus Travel Iceland came to our bus stop over the hour and a half bus said we were not scheduled to be on their bus. Though the fact that we did not see the northern lights is not the tour company’s fault overall was a horrible experience. Tour guide genuinely tried her best. Hated the overall company. I WANT A REFUND.

The tour guide was very friendly and the tour itself was nice. Finding and getting on our bus was a complete nightmare and the company needs to do a much better job of organizing how clients are picked up and managed. There were many people and buses pulled up one by calling out names. Because the crowds were so large, people in the back couldn't hear their names. The company should send clients bus assignments beforehand, this was people can go to the correct bus instead of waiting 40 minutes to find the right one.

It was worth the cold, windy Icelandic night! We were lucky to see the Northern light which stayed and displayed its wonders for about 45 minutes! Out guide Martin was knowledgeable and helpful and so was the experienced driver. Soon after we stopped at our destination there was free flow of hot chocolate with hint of cinnamon.

This is literally the most unorganised pick up chaos i have ever experienced in any country!
Last night we waited 30 mins and tonight 40 to get on a bus!
PLEASE sort out a system with the buses - you cant have 1 person reading out individual names of 150/200 people - you cant hear or understand them its ridiculous!!!
4 buses came at the same time and it took 25 mins to get the first bus full so the other guides wouldn't read out any names until the first bus moved on! Nobody has a clue whats happened its such a bad start to a tour and the guides are so miserable so there must be a better way to suit everyone
