2. Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House)
We drive around 30 min. to Our first stop is the House of Virgin Mary. The House of Virgin Mary is located on the Aladag Mountains 5 miles away from Ephesus. At the third Ecumenical Council on 431 AD in Ephesus, it was claimed that Mary came to Ephesus with St. John in 37 A.D. and lived there until her death in 48 A.D. After the discovery of the house, the Archbishop of Izmir declared there as a place of pilgrimage in 1892. On July 26, 1967, Pope Paul VI visited this place and prayed there
3. Ancient City of Ephesus
Continue to our tour with our second stop Ephesus Ancient City. We will start visiting one of the main highlights in Turkey, Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of Ionian League (an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor) is located near Izmir. As a port city it was a major departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor. Walk through history along marble streets lined with wonderful public buildings, among them the Baths of Scholastica, the Library of Celsus; it was built in the beginning of the 2nd century A.D. by Gaius Julius Aquila to be a memorial to his father Gaius Julius Celsus Polemanus, the proconsul of Province of Asia. , the Temple of Hadrian and The Grand Theater are two of the most impressive buildings in Ephesus. Grand theatre was built in 3rd century B.C and it was later expanded to 24.000 spectators by the Romans in the 1st century A.D.
4. Ephesus Terrace Houses
Terrace Houses ( included in 2 options. Private with Terrace Houses and Group with Terrace Houses. Terrace Houses are not included in without Terrace Houses options ) is located on skirt of Pion Mountain. There are 6 residential units which were built on three man-made terraces. These houses were settled by wealty citizens of Ephesus. These houses were very fancy decorated with wall frescoes and floor mosaics. There are many steps to ascend from bottom to top. Not recommended for people who has walking difficulties and acro-phobia (fear of heights).
5. The Temple of Artemis
Our last stop is The Temple of Artemis to take pictures
6. Kusadasi Gazi Begendi Park
Pass by Gazi Begendi Park where you have the best view of town
7. Kusadasi
Arrival to Kusadasi. Drop off to Kusadasi port . The end of our services

Thank you very much to Ms Pinar who was a fantastic tour guide on this trip. We came with a cruise vessel to Kusadasi and decided to choose Curio Travel for the trip to Ephesus and the house of Virgin Maria, which was a very good choice

Tez was brilliant. It was easy to find the tour at the cruise port and we were personally introduced to Tez and taken in a very comfortable and airconned vehicle on our trip. Tez was extremely knowledgeable and friendly not only on the Ephesus tour but during the transfer. He is obviously passionate about Kusadasi, Ephesus and his job and he found out what we wanted to get out of the experience and answered all questions. Only 4 of us on the tour and Tez knew where to take us to avoid the big crowds - timed to perfection.
We would definitely recommend him and the trip without hesitation.

We had an excellent visit to Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary with Tez. He was a fantastic guide with an amazing amount of knowledge about the history of the area. He was happy to take the tour at a pace that suited us and the others in the tour group, and answer all our questions. The minibus was extremely comfortable too!

Booking trip was easy and straightforward. We were met at the port on time and escorted to our mini-bus with the others in our small group. The tour was excellent and our walks round Ephesus and at the other sites were paced just right. Pinar was informative, courteous and helpful throughout.

We were very happy with this guided tour of Ephesus. Nejdet (spelling?) was very knowledgeable with a very pleasant demeanor. He brought the past to life for us. We enjoyed the entire day. He is very highly recommended!

We were a party of 3 on a shore excursion. tour guide waited for us at the port with mini bus and driver. great tour guide, very knowledgable. perfect balance of information and free time. would highly recommend. include the terraced houses if time permits.
