See the Cajuns of the Bayou living and surviving in harmony with the swamps. Here, the waterways are their highways. From the relaxed comfort of our covered New Orleans Swamp Tour Boats, you will drift slowly past a 2000 year old Indian Burial Mound, a Cajun cemetery and a fishing village! You'll admire the wildlife that made the Barataria Swamps the Crown Jewel of the Louisiana Purchase. Here, birds, snakes, turtles, fur animals, and gators - the king of the swamp - are easily spotted in Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Thank you for the blankets!! The escort was humorous, full of personality and flair. He was knowledgeable and apologetic that at this time of the year the alligators weren’t surfacing like we wish. However, we did see a couple scratching the surface. He made up for it by allowing us to pamper a baby alligator. What a wonderful experience..

Everyone that we came in contact with from the driver to the ladies in the gift shop to Captain Ernie were amazing and very welcoming. We were blessed with a sunny day after a huge rain, and despite it being chilly outside, we were able to spot a few gators, and have a great time on the boat. Captain Ernie was not only very welcoming and personable, but also extremely knowledgeable and shared with us his love for the land and the gators. I would recommend this trip to anyone and plan on coming back on our next trip to Louisiana. We were blessed to have such an amazing crew to show us a piece of their heritage. Captain Ernie is the best!!

The tour and guide were great. Very knowledgeable and brought out a turtle and alligator for us to hold.

The complimentary transportation took nearly a hour and a half to get us close to the Intercontinental (refused to drop us off at the front) and smelled like pot.

Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, and very sufficient!
He was able to spot a very hidden gator that many of us couldn’t!

Fantastic tour! We lucked out with the weather and found an alligator sunning himself on the shore. Tre was a great guide - shared his love of the place he grew up, told stories and jokes that kept us entertained. Loved being in a covered boat while hearing tales of snakes dropping from the trees and learning about what's in that beautiful Spanish moss. Also really appreciated discovering that swamp cows are a thing! Of all the animals I thought I might see, cows were not high on the list.

Nothing bad about the tour itself. Guide was knowledgeable and showed us what there was. But I didn’t realize Howe degraded the bayous in this area actually are. Without new fresh water coming in they are now salty and the life is dying. Particularly the cypress which can no longer grow at all, though the older ( not old, those were cut down) are still barely surviving.

Even in the cold we were able to see alligators. Learning history was amazing. The stories shared added color to the tour

Captain Dewey was fantastic! He knows the waterways & animals so well because he was born & raised in the area. Highly recommend this tour!
