We were really pleased with our swamp tour. Derek was our driver. He turned up promptly and gave a good, clear and amusing commentary on the 40 minute journey. Once we arrived everything was really well organised. I can’t remember our guides name but he was a local and again, gave a very clear commentary. We saw lots of alligators, raccoons and a snake.

The bus pickup on Canal Street with our entertaining driver Dwayne (the Rock - Pebbles) was an easy start for the 45 minute drive to the swamp boarding area.

Checkin was a breeze and we all soon boarded the boat tour with our knowledgeable Captain Dustin. The boat was almost full with 14 passengers seated in 2 rows facing outwards along the long side of the boat.

Dustin kept the tour entertaining with jokes as well as informative content about the swamp ecosystem. He went above and beyond to give both sides of the boat a great photo shot of the view of the moment.

Don’t forget to get details from Dustin on why skeeter Deet is not needed in the swamp!

We took this tour with seven of my friends and it exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide, I believe his name was Jacob, was extremely knowledgeable in various areas and provided us with stories filled with amazing facts about the history of the region, as well as its flora and fauna. I highly recommend booking this tour specifically with him. We saw a lot of crocodiles and racoons and it was fun.

We were picked up in New Orleans by a friendly bus driver who took us out to the swamps.
We had a very entertaining captain on the boat who I think was called Dustin & we were lucky enough to see numerous Alligators including a 20ft creature called Sindy.

Tons of gators! This was a great tour, led by Capt. Dave. We did the smaller VIP tour and had an amazing experience. Dave was so knowledgeable about the swamp, the wildlife, and the vegetation, and pretty funny to boot. We saw many gators, including one huge one, and, as the pic shows, racoons. We did the late afternoon tour, which made for beautiful lighting.

Also a shoutout to Mimi the bus driver, who picked us up in the French Quarter and got us back in time for our dinner reservation.

Brilliant tour, from the very start at pick-up. Both guides were very informative, Derek and Pat. As well as being informative and ensuring our safety, they were both very engaging and made our tour very enjoyable. I would highly recommend anyone who hasn't experienced this tour, to book it. There is also a very well stocked shop at the Cajun Encounters base for snacks and refreshments. Thank you Cajun Encounters for a wonderful tour!
