Let the good times roll as you discover the Big Easy’s vibrant drinking culture on the original cocktail walking tour of New Orleans. New Orleans has long been a muse with an unquenchable taste for revelry, muddling sophistication and fancy in equal parts. It’s no wonder the cocktail scene began in early 1850 to be exact. Drink in her rich history as you explore the French Quarter, where the hour is always happy. Try 3 different cocktails on your tour, one of them being the Sazerac, which was invented in New Orleans and is one of the city’s most iconic libations.

Tim had some great stories that were relevant to the places we visited.
It was a small group so interaction with the guide was good.

Interesting history of the French Quarter & The cocktails we had. Bob our tour guide was great- informative and ensured our little group was comfortable. The tour started with a refreshing drink that set the mood for a great time and ended with some great jazz!

Have done this tour pre Covid and post covid. Magnificent! Both Tom and Robert are great! Full of knowledge of both the drinks and history. Highly recommend even if you have been to NoLA before!

Sounds silly, but it was our fourth time taking the tour. It’s just the right amount of history, with lots of drinking. So lots of fun! Only complaint is that the sazerac isn’t necessarily a cocktail I’d like to be paying for. In past years, the cocktails were optional, or you could order a different drink from whichever bar. Having the cocktails included sounds great, but having a couple of options would be nice.

First, New Orleans does not have a "craft cocktail" scene. Rather, it has several well-known cocktails that are made at every bar, some of which are better than others. This tour offers 3 cocktails, two of which are well-known NOLA cocktails, 1 of which comes right out of left field and has nothing to do with NOLA - and is not a particularly good cocktail, at that. In addition to the three that are included, there is the opportunity to purchase 2 others at optional locations. This is really a history of some of the first players in the cocktail scene who had a hand in developing the well-known NOLA cocktails. Whether all of this history is true or not, I could not say, but the history is overlong and the mediocrity of the cocktails did not make up for it.

This original NOLA Cocktail Tour was fantastic and the tour guide was great; he enhanced our experience with explanations about the specialty drinks we all enjoyed very much. With the exception of the famous Hurricane drink that originated at Pat O'Brian's Bar, we tasted a couple boozy cocktails new to our palates, and thus, we were pleased as punch and in a very good mood by the end of this tour! On a scale of one to ten, we rate this tour a solid ten.
