This was the first thing I did when I arrived in New Orleans from the UK - what an amazing start to my trip! Beth was friendly, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable about the city's history and food culture. And the food was great! If you've never been to NOLA before and want to get a taste of some classic Cajun and Creole dishes, this is a great way to do it, with a brilliant tour guide to boot!

We had 2 days in New Orleans and on the first day we took a bus tour of the whole area. This walking tour was the perfect complement because it focused on the French Quarter. Be sure to show up hungry! We started with an amazing gumbo, then went for a hot sauce/barbecue sauce sampling, then sampled some pralines. Our 4th stop offered a muffuletta, a catfish po'boy and a boudin sausage -- all delicious! Our final stop served red beans and rice (which tastes much better than it sounds) and bread pudding. It was great to have the excellent commentary by our guide Mike. It was well-organized with water available, rest rooms pointed out, and gave a good sense of the French quarter.

The smaller establishments away from the main area. It’s nice to give the small local business a shout out

This is A MUST! I also recommend going early on in your visit to help you map out your food itinerary for the rest of the trip. Beth was an amazing guide, we loved her! We had so much fun, learned amazing food history and ate the BEST of the best NOLA food!
