We went for day activity, drove down to the Neuschwanstein and took a bus to go upto the Miren bridge from where one can take beautiful photographs of the Castle in backgroun, from there it is 15 minutes walk, not very strenous. The Castle is beautiful from inside . Each group of visitors is assinged a guide who explains the rooms and items in the room. There are tours in English. Tip is take a bus ticket one way to go upto Miren Birdge , buy one way ticket and from there trek to Castle, on the way back, trek down , it take around 30 minutes, if you go back to Miren bridge then trek more tough and will take more time.

Our tour was assigned two very friendly guides, so one guide took ~23 visitors each, which makes the trip more enjoyable. They shared plenty of interesting stories along the journey. The tour doesn't stop at Fussen or Linderhof, so pls take note.

Great guide Nick who looked after us brilliantly. Great coach journey … fab scenery once on the country roads. Good informative commentary on both journeys. Right amount of time there to see and do everything…please pay the 17 euros to go inside … it is spectacular. 5 * trip which I would recommend to anyone to do.

An excellent tour and well organised. Charlie and Stevo from Radius Tours are exceptional guides… made the day even more fun!!!
Lots of walking and stairs inside the castle - be prepared. Food expensive in the village - so bring your own if you can ….

Steve and Nic, these two were amazingly fun to have as guides. Fresh and cheeky, but not to over the top.

This tour was outstanding. Our guide, Charlie was extremely knowledgable and even though he had to take two groups because the other guide was sick, he did an outstanding job. He provided a wealth of knowledge about the subject matter. Highly recommend.

Each year, I take a solo trip for Christmas, and I try to fill them with all the things important to me on a holiday: sightseeing, learning, history, and fun. Neuschwanstein was naturally at the top of my list for this trip, and this tour did not disappoint.

Charlie was my guide, and he was fantastic. Usually there are two guides per tour; but Charlie had to handle all of us on our own as the other was sick. Charlie is a great docent, for all the usual reasons: he's knowledgeable, friendly, etc. But he shines in two specific areas: taking the subject matter seriously and caring deeply about his guests. The level of care displayed was phenomenal, and it truly felt like Charlie already somehow knew each of us. And in terms of his style, he avoids the usual corny jokes one usually hears on tours. He doesn't treat the subject matter as boring, using jokes to fill in where insecurity reigns. Instead, he treats the subject matter with respect, and encourages the group to do the same. It was really cool!

Also traveling solo? Here's an easy tip: board the bus first ;-)

The castle was fabulous! The views were spectacular! Ludwig’s story is fascinating! Definitely a highlight of our vacation. The inside of the castle was beautiful, but the outside and the grounds of the castle were our favorite. The walk up to the castle is not for the faint of heart or anyone with a medical condition. It’s a road, but you are literally climbing a mountain. It’s steep. My son and I are healthy and it was hard. Great experience and well worth it.
