Really nice visit that was made even better by our tour guide Ashley. She made sure we didn't miss anything and was full of great information about every creature she showed us. She was also extremely personable - it was like seeing the place with a really knowledgeable friend. It was a great demonstration of why it can make all the difference in the world to go with a guided tour rather than just walking through on your own. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful time! Especially loved the butterfly garden and the frog exhibits. Ashly was our guide and took the time to point out all of the different frog species in each exhibit as well as all of the wild creatures we came across such as birds, lizards, and plants.

My boyfriend and I had a great time on our guided tour. Ashley was very kind and knowledgable about all of the wildlife. It was an enriching experience - we learned a lot and got to see quite a bit. The snakes, crocodiles and frogs were very cool! It would have been tricky to spot a few of the frogs and snakes without her and her flashlight. We enjoyed our day here and would recommend the guided tours for sure!

Why would you go to a zoo when there are so many similarly priced options to see animals in their natural habitat. My daughter, who is a budding eco-warrior, was very upset that they had a hamster in the gift shop area in a really substandard habitat. The butterfly garden was cool, but in general this was depressing and definitely not worth the money.

Our guide Miguel was so knowledgeable. He got us to view tiny frogs and snakes we would have missed if he didn't shine his light on them. We never knew there were that many frogs and so many are poisonous. The butterfly section was amazing. He explained all the different kinds. It's a beautiful park.

My 6 and 8 year old boys, husband and I spent about 2 hours exploring the park with guide Luis and assistant guide, Wendy. They were both so engaging and kind and knowledgeable. As a former 20-something biologist, I recognized their passion and enthusiasm for the forest and animals. We got to see 2 wild sloths, and a few lucky bird sightings. We also enjoyed the captive collection of reptiles and amphibians as my young kids have less patience for watching and waiting than adults. The walk was well groomed and free of any major hills, easy for the kids. Thanks Luis and Wendy. Highlights were the butterflies and the crocodiles! Note that captive animals are all rescued animals. We also got to see their veterinary hospital from afar. I am a veterinarian and was pleased with what I heard about how they care for and feed their collection.

My husband and I were at the park when it first opened around 2011. Our 7 yo son came with us to Costa Rica this time so we decided to take the tour again since my son loves all the forest creatures. The park had been updated quite a bit since the 2011 visit. Luis was our guide and he was so knowledgable about all the animals. He had a spare flashlight he used to search for the poison dart frogs and gave my son the second light so he could help search. That made his day! Great tour and worth the money.

Did self guided tour. Many ups and downs - difficult walking at times because of wet trails and uneven surfaces. Butterfly enclosure is quite large but not a lot of butterflies or variety. Crocodiles are huge... interesting. Snake displays are many but difficult to find the snakes even with the flashlights provided. Many frogs in the display cases - again some are easily spotted with the flashlight and/or just by looking carefully. Other displays are also available. Probably better to get a guide to help find the different animals in this park. The park just seemed to have a neglected look to it.

We visited here towards the end of Nov 2018.

We chose a self-guided hike through the grounds, during the day. The fee covers the entire day, so if you leave you may come back later. We were welcomed back for the evening tour through the grounds, but had had a long day and were too tired!

The park itself is pretty good, not a very large park, but the hike was nice. Loved the butterfly enclosure! The frogs and snakes were hard to see through the glass, they gave us flashlights, but it only helped a little. I wish they could've been in larger or more open areas. (I'm sure the frogs and snakes would've liked that too)The set up here was like a zoo. It is easier to see the animals this way, especially if you bring kids.

Staff was very friendly, and helpful when explaining the map of the park and what they offer.

Overall a fun safe place to see the animals, and they all appeared to be well looked after, which would be the most important thing. Would visit again next time we are in the area.

We picked this tour on a free day because it was just up the road from Arenal Springs Resort & Spa.
Resort took and picked us up in a golf cart. We were told $25 from resort staff, it was $23 at Natura, or $36 for guided tour. We elected guided tour. Butterfly enclosure was a little disappointing, with few varieties. Would be nearly impossible to find frogs or snakes without guide with flashlight! Park seemed a bit run down and was under construction with mud walkways where gravel had been! ( somewhat understandable in off season?) Crocs, turtles, caiman were good! Lots of frogs and snakes varieties! I think $36 was a little steep but mediocre tour!?
