Watching the 2 divers feed the fish in the tank from the viewing platform and seeing the little penguins being fed. The whole experience was more than we had expected.

A nicely laid out aquarium, plenty of fish and the likes as you would expect, less expected the section on local fossils, the Kiwi’s and Tuatara. Great for children with interactive spaces.

We found the aquarium very well set out with a huge amount of exhibits. We walked through the tunnel a number of times to get a good look at all the fish. It was very well set out. There was also a dark room with a kiwi behind glass sadly it was impossible to see and we didn’t get a photograph. All we could make out was make out was a faint shape moving about.

If you are staying in Napier this is definitely worth a couple of hours of your time. Its only a short walk along the beach from the centre. Its small but perfectly formed. Make sure you see the penguins being fed but all the exhibits were good
