A very long day. Mount Fuji was spectacular but there is a lot of time on the bus. Maybe if the lunch venue was closer to the lake cruise it could have been shorter? Yoko our guide was lovely.

The tour is a very full day, timing is important and our guide was fantastic. She gave a comprehensive commentary of each site and used a lot of great humour.

Do not recommend this tour. We were very disappointed. The tour started at 830 (luckily we were on time despite very vague instructions about where to meet) and took 2 hours in light traffic to get to Mt Fuji. There was a great view of the mountain from the window of the bus en route but we didnt stop until we got halfway up Fuji. I didnt know it at the time but this screenshot from the bus was the only real view of Fuji we would get. On arrival at the 5th station you are way too close to get a good picture or sense of her size and beauty After the 2+ hours of driving we only stopped for 20 minutes before getting back on the bus for another hour. We arrived at what was described the guide as a large gynamisium but which serves as a cafeteria for lunch. Thankfully we had ordered the lunch option because if you dont there are no other options for food and those that didnt order are assigned to tables designating them as the poor souls with no lunch. The food wasnt too bad but the whole place felt like a prison cafeteria. There was nothing to see or do during lunch hour other than eat and talk to the other inmates, I mean customers. I had no idea why we stopped at that location. Then another 30-40 minutes on the bus to get to the cablecars at Hakone. The ride up and back was fine and the views from the top were ok, not ideal due to clouds but that isnt the fault of the tour. After the descent we took a 30 min ride on a boat on Lake Ashi which was uneventful and then back on the bus for an hour to get to the train which then took a speedy 35 mins to get us back to Tokyo. For us, it was then 25 more minutes on the metro to get back to the starting location in Shinjuku. Overall, while the tour technically did what it said, we were sitting still in transport for 7 of the 9 hours, 80% of the information shared with us was about what time to be back on the bus and no information was shared about where we could expect to get a good view or take photos and not much about the meaning or significance of any of it other than its a volcano and a heritage site. We would have been much better off with a wikipedia page and a taxi to the foot of the mountain.

Mt Fuji was awesome, but the best view was from the top of the cable car ride. Pictures do not do it justice, you have to be there. We also got some surprise entertainment during lunch which was wonderful!

Only good thing was transportation. Was not really an educational tour just a means of transportation. Very expensive for what little it was. Tour guide did not walk around at locations and explain history like in other tours I have gone on.
