This was an awesome experience, me and my brother did the sunrise tour.
Best decision we made , what made it really better and the best experience was our guide Chris.
Absolutely fantastic and humble person and made it an extremely memorable experience.
Our driver guru was really nice as well.

We had an amazing time! First, we got picked up by Jero Kadek Arcana, and he was a very considerate and safe driver. He speaks English well and was always happy to answer our questions. On the way back he also stopped at a supermarket, so we could buy some waters. We trusted our things with him when we went on the hike and also during the hot springs. He was always right there and ready to take us to the next stop whenever we needed it. If you can request Jero as your driver, you should do so.
Our guide Gede Arcana on the mountain was also amazing. He always took care to walk our speed and when I slipped he checked for injuries and helped. I love to hike, but I would not call myself an experienced hiker and I did okay going up, for my husband that part was the most difficult. On the way back however, it was very slippery due to the loose rocks. On top of the mountain it was foggy, so we couldn't see the sunrise but Gede made us a delicious breakfast and made sure we were comfortable. He took us the crater and showed us the smoke coming out of the vulcana and answered all of our questions about it.
Both Gede and Jero were very attentive and thoughtful. We had a fantastic experience despite the wheater and can only recommend this tour. Jero would have taken us to other places such as a coffee plantation afterwards and gave us many good tips of what else to do, but we were so tired from the hike, we returned to the hotel after the hot springs.

Amazing from start to finish. Driver Putu was very punctual. Our guide Madi was so friendly and super knowledgable, helped us take many pics. The scenery itself was out of this world. We were very lucky and had great views as well as clouds rolling through the valley.

Highly recommend this trip 10/10 . We had a private guide up Mt Batur. Everything was provided, water, head torch and breakfast. Recommend you take warm clothes as it is windy at the top and does get cold. Jero Kadek Arcana picked us up from our hotel in Ubud and was really welcoming and helpful.

We are extremely satisfied by the service provided by the pick-up driver, Mr. Niko and the Tour Guide, Mr. Nepha. The tour guide explained to us, the different trails with their intricacies: distance/ speed and incline/ effort. He was extremely patient as I trekked with my son, who was finding it difficult to find his balance.
TIPS: travel light: a small backpack to keep a 600 ml bottle of water, a jacket. We alternated between wearing and removing the jacket through the trip. It was 18'C when we started and needed the jacket for the climb, as winds increased with the altitude. With the warm sun, removed the jacket on the way down.
At the base camp, we were provided hot drinks, bottle of water, flash lights and walking sticks. At the Top, we were provided with breakfast. Here are some pictures from the views on top.
On the Top, we could see the steam coming out of the rocks and the view with the clouds and lake below us, were mesmering.
Unlike many other reviews, we were not harassed by hawkers trying to sell drinks to us. I think a lot depends on the communication of your guide and what rapports he shares with this micro community.
Overall, I give it a 10/10.

Our trip was everything we had hoped for. Our driver Nengah was prompt, communicative, and helpful in getting us our tickets, towels, and drink tickets at the hot springs. Our guide up Mt. Batur was excellent as well. The hike was moderately difficult going up and had several areas coming down that were very slippery with loose gravel on steep terrain where our guide assisted me so I did not fall. The sunrise was amazing. We are glad we did this trip, it was definitely worth the early morning.

We had a fun time on this tour and an awesome view of the sunrise. Santana was on time to pick us up from the hotel and got us safely to base camp. He was able to tell us all about the area around Mt Batur.
Upon arrival we met Jalo, who drove us up the mountain, helped us take tons of photos, and let us pick some music to play on the way back down. We stopped at the black lava area for more great photos and off roading.
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend it.
