Wayan was an amazing tour guide and his rates were reasonable! The Mt batur sunrise jeep tour he arranged for us is great for those who want to see the view but don't want or can't really trek. After the sunrise tour, we hired Wayan for the day to bring us around Kintamani, Bersakih Temple and a waterfall. Throughout the trip, Wayan shared a lot about the Balinese culture and way of life, and gave us lots of recommendations for the rest of our trip. He was on time and always knew what to do to ensure a great experience. The day we had with him was the best day of our entire trip!

We elected to add this day trip to supplement our package tour that only focused on the southern coast and Ubud regions of Bali. I'm so glad we did so. While East Bali may be less visited than these areas, there are plenty of sites worth a visit. The Water Palace was a real treat and quite different than many of the other temples in Bali. Virgin Beach was beautiful, warm, and not swarming with tourists. The Pura Goa Lawah bat cave was a brief but unique site. Finally, Lempuyang (Gate of Heaven), while heavily visited and often accompanied by long lines, is a truly beautiful site. It's a long day but well worth it if you want to see the full diversity of this beautiful island.
