1. Passeig de Gracia
Start this tour directly from your hotel or apartment in Barcelona city. We come to pick you up, so please be sure to let us know exactly where you are staying. Enjoy an overview of Barcelona city along the route, pass by Catalunya Square, Barcelona Cathedral, Passeig de Gracia and the Gaudi Houses, such as the Batllo and the Pedrera, and many other highlights.
2. Montserrat
Get on the road and head to the mystic mountain of Montserrat. This natural park, with its very peculiar peaks, protects the spiritual essence of Catalonia. For almost 1,000 years, a Benedictine community has lived in these mountains located 60 km away from Barcelona. On the way, listen to some interesting stories about Catalonia and its bounding to the holy mountain, scene of pilgrims since ancient times and part of the route to Santiago de Compostela. Your guide will share important information to understand the heritage you will discover during the tour.
3. Montana de Montserrat
The Rocky Massif of Montserrat has been declared as Natural Park in 1987, and characterised by the rounded shape of its peaks. This incredible 4000-foot wonder is easily recognizable by its ''serrated'' top from which it got his name. Once you reach the monastery, you have plenty of options and your guide will always adjust to your interests. We invite you to take an easy walk of around 30 min to enjoy one of the most astonishing views of the natural park, but if you wish you can also decide to enjoy other activities that the mountain offers.
4. Abadia de Montserrat
Visit the Basilica of Montserrat, house of the serene image of the Virgin of Montserrat, the patron saint of Catalonia, a polychrome Romanesque carving dating from the 12th century. The legend says that in the year 880 some shepherd boys found a statue of the black madonna, the "Moreneta", in a grotto. A chapel was built on this site that soon became a place of pilgrimage.

Decide with your small group of 8 pax if you want to enjoy a ride in the rack railway that will bring you at the top of the holy mountain. Enjoy astonishing views along the way.
6. Sant Jeroni
Reach the peak of the holy mountain to enjoy a bird's eye view of the entire Montserrat Monastery and of the natural park. On clear days, you will enjoy uninterrupted views of the whole of Catalunya.
7. Aeri de Montserrat
If you skipped the funicular, you can enjoy the cable car, a breathtaking journey over the Llobregat River and Valley, up the mountain and right up to Montserrat Monastery. The cable car first started running in 1930. It travels at a speed of 5 metres per second and at a gradient of up to 45%. This is a trip that is not for the faint hearted - you will be travelling 1350 metres up the mountain in a small hanging car! However, if you are not afraid of heights, you will be in for a really memorable and rewarding experience.
8. Montserrat Museum
If you wish, you can also decide to visit the Montserrat museum. It has an important section of early paintings, spanning the 13th to the 18th centuries, with works by El Greco, Caravaggio as well as a large collection of Catalan paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries that includes major names such as Fortuny, Rusiñol, Casas, Picasso and Dalí but also of French impressionism such as Chagall, Braque, Le Corbusier, Miró, Dalí and Picasso.

After the visit of Montserrat, you will get back on the road to head to the Penedès region. Because of the bright sun and the Mediterranean Sea, the Penedès region has one of the widest varieties of grapes of any wine region in the world. Enjoy great views of the countryside while your guide explains you the features of the area and the importance of its wines. In this magic area time has stopped as the surroundings, the vineyards and even the culinary traditions are still the same as many years before.

Among the many lands of the Penedes Area, we have chosen the most representative of the Cava production: Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, the capital of Cava. You will discover the origins of this sparkling wine in the hometown of the most ancient and traditional wineries, since its wine growing past goes back to almost five centuries of antiquity.

Enjoy a short walking tour through the center of Sant Sadurní to understand the importance of Cava in the historical development of the area. There are more than 80 local producers spread over the streets, and the boom in wine production in the late nineteenth century is reflected in the beautiful modernist facades of the buildings from the center of the town.

Eduardo was a fantastic tour guide! He really enhanced our experience because he was punctual so we never felt rushed, very friendly, spoke great english, and was both professional and knowledgeable but also entertaining. We would be thrilled to go on another tour with him in the future!

We have been in Spain for approximately 3 weeks and we agree that the visit to Monserrat is definitely one of the highlight of our trip. Just a short drive away from Barcelona, it is totally worth making the trip. Joining the day tour also made things much easier for us. Eduardo spoke perfect English and was able to give us much information about the monastery. He was also an excellent driver and was able to navigate traffic well, ensuring that we were picked up and dropped off on time.

Price should be adjusted to be lower during December since itinerary was simplified due to no choir, no grapes. The buffet at the cafe was lousy. Tour operator was friendly. The wine tasting was good.

My friends and I booked this tour before we did ANYTHING ELSE while we were here in Spain! We got to taste delicious wine, listen to a beautifully orchestrated all- boys choir, and see magnificent views and heights. Our driver and guide, Marcel, picked us up and dropped us off safely from/to our hotel and guided us with the upmost care and enthusiasm throughout the entire journey! Definitely worth the purchase, but if you go in December WEAR A COAT

Truly one tour you have to try, it was so fun going up to the mountain, trying out the funicular to go up for a better view, and especially seeing the boy’s choir with their angelic voices. The wine was so good and learning about how the Cava came to be was awesome. Marcel is so passionate and knowledgeable about all things Barcelona. He made the trip much more fund and he had great tips on what to do on the tour.

Our guide, Pablo, was very good. During the trip to Monserrat he gave us insight into Barcelona history and the area we were driving through. At Monserrat he gave us a very interesting tour of the Monastery. He allowed us some private time to ride to the top of the mountain and to have lunch. The trip to the winery was very interesting as well due to Pablo's explanation of the area.
All in all a great day. He also assisted us in making a booking for Sagrada Familia. He also suggested some very good restaurants.
