This private day trip to Mont St-Michel from Paris allows you to visit this UNESCO World Heritage site on the French coast in just one day with worry-free transportation with your own driver. You'll be wowed by the dramatic setting of this island village, which dates back to the year 907 when a chapel was built there, dedicated to Archangel Michael, the prince of angels. Since that time, the rocky island and its hilltop abbey have become one of the top attractions outside of Paris.

Do not schedule this tour! They cancelled on us the day before and, even though they did give us notice, it was at the last minute and didn't even offer us a good reason. Even if they did have a good reason, at these prices, they should have had a plan B so as not to let down their customer. They didn't even advise us on finding a different tour, so it was very hard to find one for the very next day to replace it. We had to have a local there who spoke French help us. And what's even worse, they stated in the email that they had refunded our money however they never did. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company! And when I did find an alternative, I can see how overpriced this one was to begin with. What a horrible experience!! This is the kind of stress you do not need when you're trying to enjoy yourself on a vacation.

First the only bad news, you MUST be in pretty good walking shape.
It's every bit as beautiful and mesmerizing as the guide books and blogs say. The front end is a bit hokey with tourist shops but that's easy to overlook, watching the tide is an experience. Worth the drive from Paris!

Traveling with my 3 year old grandson and his parents. We walked the stairs to the top of the mont. I didn't count the stairs but there were a lot. Fortunately, a lot of stores to stop and look in the windows (and rest) and places to eat and get beverages. It was well worth the climb, especially the view at the top down to the sand.
Many places to get omelets . DO NOT eat at Madama Poulard's. Horribly overpriced for a mediocre product. All omelets the same - if you want ham they sprinkle some on top; cheese? sprinkle some on top, etc. Staff were curt, brusque and downright rude.
