This was where it all started. Meet the heart of the city nested in the oldest hill of Lisbon. It is the hill of fado and of the typical taverns that preserve their genius and traditional roots. From the quarters of Graça and Alfama, through Mouraria up to the São Jorge Castle, you may be lucky enough to come across a sardine barbecue on the street. We hop out in Alfama, take a walk through this music quarter and listen to its cries. You will be able to see Roman remains, medieval houses that survived the 1755 earthquake, the magnificent Lisbon Cathedral, squares livened up by outdoor cafés, nooks and alleys reminiscent of Arab cities – Lisbon’s multicultural history has also left its mark here. Incredible views of the city from the many natural windows it offers will not be left out.

We booked our tour through our hotel and it was perfect. We chose the 2 hour tour which was enough time to see all of the highlights. Federico was our guide and knew everything about the city. After picking us up at our hotel we strolled through the streets learning about Lisbon history. We stopped at many touristy spots yet he also brought us to places off the beaten path which we never would have seen without the tour.

We took the 2 hour tour, and we were not disappointed, Raphael was a fantastic guide, explaining everything very well, very friendly and fun. The experience with the tuk tuk was very good. 100% recommended tour!!

We had an absolutely brilliant time with Tiago touring the old city and behind the castle He was so enthusuastic about his city and its history and was great fun too. The tour was scheduled for 1 hr but was probably nearer two because we were having such a great time. We particularly appreciated the slightly alternative route he took us 'behind the castle' and the insights he gave us into life there. Thanks very much Tiago
