I'm thrilled I chose the Fly | Cruise | Fly tour instead of taking the bus tour. It saves time and if you choose an earlier time slot, you get to the ferries before it is too busy.
The views throughout the flight were amazing. The cruise was equally great and we were lucky enough to see a large pod of dolphins during the cruise.
Glenorchy Air staff are very professional and super friendly. The tour was well planned from hotel pick up until the drop off at the end.

Absolutely thrilled I chose to fly and not take a coach for this trip. The booking experience was smooth, including getting a call from Ancy just before I was due to call to confirm weather for the morning. My hotel shuttle arrived a few minutes early with big smiles from Isabelle so I wasn’t waiting around and had a quick checkin experience at the airport.
When it was time to leave, we were greeted by our pilot and taken to the plane.
I was sat in the copilot seat for the trip over so I got to see Conner skilfully fly us over to Milford Sound up close. Conner’s commentary throughout the flight was excellent, he had such great knowledge of everything worth seeing both directions, was super friendly and made sure we didn’t miss anything. The landing was so smooth that if I wasn’t sitting where I was, I’d have barely noticed we had landed.
The views from the plane were breathtaking! The South Island really is one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
The cruise itself was great - perfect weather, again great commentary from the Southern Discoveries skipper. More incredible views including dolphins (twice!) and a seal enjoying the warm sun on a 6 degree day.
We were waiting on a couple of guests from a later cruise when we got back so that gave us time to casually walk along waterfront back to the airport rather than waiting around.
Back at the airport, another friendly greeting and scenic flight with commentary from Conner back to Queenstown.
Would absolutely do this trip again and wouldn’t hesitate to do it with Glenorchy Air again. The 14 seater is the biggest plane (!) that flies in and out of Milford and was an excellent experience.
Bravo to the whole team, but especially pilot Conner - he might be the youngest pilot I’ve met but was hands down excellent.

The whole day was professionally run and the fly, cruise, fly option was an excellent way to see Milford sound and surrounding mountains. We took a lot of photographs and the pilot was very informative. I would highly recommend this trip

Stunning views of the southern island that can't be beat. James and Jim were fantastic pilots (not just because of the names!) that kept me entertained and engaged throughout the flights. Can't wait to come back to Queenstown an book one of Glenorchy Air's other experiences!

You can really tell that Glenorchy Air is a well run business with great people and skilled pilots. Jim, James, Isabel, and Amy were all great. This was genuinely one of the coolest things I've ever done. Our pilot was friendly, funny, and put everyone at ease. The views were indescribable. The value for the cost was absurdly good. Even if it's a higher cost than what you'd normally pay for a day trip, I'd say this is the best thing to indulge yourself on while in Queenstown.

We were meant to be in Queenstown only and did this on a whim. I'm so happy we did. We've always wanted to do the Milford sound cruise but the drive there and back did not appeal to me as it would take most of the day of driving. Let me tell you the flight was much more exciting than the cruise. To fly between the magnificent mountain ranges and the fantastic scenery is a must, followed by a fly through the Milford sound gorge before landing. A bonus is that everyone has a window seat, plus the pilot gives you an excellent commentary there and back. Highly recommended.
