Sounio on the cliff today stand the ruins of the ancient temple of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. The temple of Poseidon was built between 444-440 BCE. It stands at about 60 metres above sea level and like other temples has a rectangular shape. There were 34 columns originally and there are 15 of these still standing today. The columns remaining are surprisingly well preserved considering the wind up on the headland and daily exposure to the elements. Flanked on three sides by the sea, it is easy to see why this spot was an excellent vantage point for spotting incoming ships. My friend and I took a wonderful tour with Glykeria who gave us the best day of our trip in Athens. Every aspect of the tour was well done - the itinerary, the choice of sites, her amazingly knowledge, the transportation, and the plentiful laughter & entertainment. We also found Glykeria to be very well-traveled with interesting stories of her own. We could not have asked for a better experience! Ask for Glykeria !!!

Glykeria is an amazing driver and person. She was kind and accommodating and full of interesting knowledge, stories, and recommendations. While this was a transfer, it felt more like a guided tour. Because of a busy day, this was the only way we could have gotten to the Temple of Poseidon and it was well worth it. Glycerin was waiting for us right on time at the end of our last tour with cold bottles water to boot. She showed us special secret spots with phenomenal views. Highly recommend.

Great mid-day tour outside of Athens. Our guide was friendly and fun. She pointed out some spots, like the beautiful cultural center, that we would have never thought to visit. Temple of Poseidon was worth the trip and we enjoyed our lunch at the top!

This was a top-notch tour. We booked late the night before we were to dock on our Mediterranean cruising. Eirini was a wonderful guide and very accommodating. We were away from the madding crowds but still saw amazing important places in Athens. We recommend Eirini 100% for a extraordinary tour in Athens.

We were there during the floods of September 2023. Our guide Glykeria saved our holidays. She showed us magical spots on the way to the Poseidon temple that we never would have seen otherwise and helped us take great pictures. Very knowledgeable, calm, excellent driving skills and she took care of everything. She knew exactly where to go and knew exactly how long it took to get there in time. A true expert. She listened to us and offered us a tailor-made experience. I would have booked her for more tours in and around Athens if there would have been time.

Wow wow wow where do I begin?! Manos contacted us straight away with a variety of options that we could do on our tour, and once selected our adventure began! From the get go Manos was friendly, informative and a fantastic story teller! He took us to Stavros Niarchos Cultural Centre, which at first we weren't sure about, but found it incredibly interesting, Flisvos Marina and then to the Temple of Poseidon (the sunset was absolutely incredible), all the while making sure were comfortable, chatting away and joking along with us too. To top it all off, Manos showed genuine interest in the both of us and helped us plan our brief road trip. We went to every site that he recommended and, I kid you not, it was an amazing experience! He told us of all the amazing places to go and see, where to sleep and where to eat, and every single one was top notch! Manos, you have touched both our lives with your knowledge, personality and your amazing story telling, thank you so much for everything and you will hopefully see us again soon!

I booked this tour at the last minute and they were kind enough to accommodate me. My guide Eirini was the best!! As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and she was very knowledgeable in the area. I had so much fun with her as my guide. I also slept a couple of times while she was driving cause I was tired after flying in from the US and her driving skills were excellent. That’s how much I felt safe and good around her! Highly recommend this tour especially with Eirini. 😘

We enjoyed the gorgeous costal views of the journey to Temple of Poseidon and the marina, but it has a lot to do with us really wanting to pay tribute to Poseidon, the god of the sea, and had very realistic expectations. Our driver was trustworthy friendly and helpful. For anyone looking for a comfortable car and a driver, we would recommend her service. Be prepared to enjoy the scenery of the coast and beaches, and admire a small scaled ruins.

I spent 17 days in Greece, we visited 5 islands, and this tour was one of my favorite parts of the entire trip. The Temple of Poseidon itself was magical to see up close and personal, but with the sunset aspect included it was beyond amazing. This was the least crowded ruin of all the ones we visited too! It was easy to get pictures without having any other tourist in the shot. Manos made the drive enjoyable by teaching us the I rich history of Athens and this site in particular. The dinner spot was delicious, it had a gorgeous view of the coast at night, and we had the entire place to ourself.
I cannot say enough good things about this tour- or any tour hosted by this group. I think we did 3 overall. 10/10
