Marrakesh: Agafay Desert Magical Sunset Dinner with a Show

A 1.5 hour drive from Marrakech including a stop at a women’s cooperative selling argan oil products. Followed by a drive into the Agafay desert to watch the sunset, have a traditional chicken tagine lunch and short fire show.

The drive to the desert was very bumpy due to there being no actual roads so not suitable for those with a delicate constitution. Also bring warm layers for when the temperature plummets in the evening.

Our guide Ismail was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Very good.

Ismail was very friendly. The experience was really nice. We enjoyed the the pit stop as well. The atmosphere was lovely.

No hotel pick-up as indicated in the offer. Meet at an unknown gate in the Medina. Complicated support. The setting is nice, the cold meal is served very quickly and the show: max 5mm with a fire eater.
On the way back, a driver playing Mario car with a mini bus and 15 people on board. Dangerous.
A tourist trap.
Luckily the sunset was beautiful!

Very nice short trip outside Marrekech. Ismael and the driver were right on time for our pickup. Nice and careful driving and a short stop on a Argan Oil farm/producer on the way up to the Agafay desert. We really enjoyed the food and views in the desert and would recommend this trip to anyone.

I will describe this evening to you:
An hour's drive to arrive at the site.
This site is very beautiful, with a dune which allows you to take beautiful photos of the sunset.
Then we wait for the meal, well if we can call it a meal…
A very small, very warm soup, about 5/6 spoons.
Then I chose chicken couscous, well half couscous which was cold!
For dessert, a mini ramekin (about 3/4 spoons) of small pieces of apple with their syrup.
Let’s talk about the show…
In fact we place you around a fire with 4/5 musicians who will make you dance and sing. A traditional music recital featuring Shakira!
A grand finale with a caterpillar…
The only show is a fire eater who will give you a great 10/15 minute performance.
And it's done !!!
Well almost, there is the return at night for an hour…
For my part, I regret this evening greatly.
Even if the price is attractive, it’s a lot of hours wasted for a very approximate service.

Beautiful views lovely meal soup/ tagine/morocan fruit salad. Ismail the guide was very helpful. The fire show at the end was awesome!

Beautifull surrounding in the desert. Friendly people. The diner is a bit basic. nice fire show. Ismail is a friendly gide. Bring warm clothing with you.

It was disorganised from the start. We had booked a hotel pick up,but this was changed last minute. When at the meeting point it was disorganised to the point that they had to put on alternative transport to the location. Activity unorganised and felt as if had been forgotten about. The only positive was the guide who kept us entertained.

Great time in the desert - the music and fire show was a nice touch!

More importantly - Ismael, our tour guide, and Hmad, our driver, took exceptional care of us! Highly recommend requesting them for this trip and others. They were highly accommodating throughout the entire night.
