We bought the trip with Rafa Morocco, me and 2 other friends.
The hotels in Marrakech are as expected considering the Lowcost package.
The trip to the Sahara is done in a van, which is quite comfortable.
On the way there we make several stops and sleep in a hotel to continue our journey the next day.
The lunch restaurants on the road have basically the same food in all of them and cost around €12 for the full menu.
The journey is very long, the road is full of curves which can cause nausea.
When we arrive in the desert we have the option of going by Dromedário or by 4x4 (the quad bike is paid separately).
I chose to go by dromedary, as it was very hot and I was exhausted from the very tiring trip, I ended up feeling sick in the middle of the desert.
I was very well looked after by one of the guides who was taking us to the camp, who stayed with me and helped me. Our tourleader (Hamid) promptly came to pick me up in the desert and take me by 4x4 to the camp.
The camp is very good considering that you are in the middle of the Sahara sands. The rooms are very hot, there is no ventilation.
We didn't have the same reception as other groups, I believe the cause was employee exhaustion. When we arrived we found out that the night before they had received a group of 50 people. They were clearly tired, some sleeping on benches… which was very difficult to see.
The entire time we were in the desert we saw how exhausted these boys were, they tried everything they could to make us feel good, but it was impossible to hide their tiredness. We learned that they don't have rest days and new groups arrive every day... that must be why they were like that.
The return to Marrakech is really terrible, the road is full of curves and it takes 10 hours to travel. Sometimes, if the attractions were divided between return trips, it wouldn't be so heavy and there wouldn't be such a rush to visit.
I had an issue in which I was able to verify the lack of support from the company. As soon as I left the hotel to go to the airport, I realized that I had forgotten my glasses at the hotel and asked for help, they never answered me about it, I was ignored and I didn't even receive a “we couldn't find” message, even though I asked several times.
The highlight of the trip was our tourleader Hamid! Truly extraordinary.

An incredible tour that surprised me in every way! Morocco is a country rich in culture and being able to do this tour was like being immersed in the culture, very welcoming people, I traveled alone and it was the most incredible experience! The tour was excellent with great guides and an incredible group! I never felt alone!

The entire Marrakech trips team is very committed and friendly!
We had some setbacks but nothing that negatively influenced the experience as a whole. The road to the desert is long and the guides did everything they could to reassure us. Special thanks to guide Mohammad and driver Ali who we spent most of the time with and were extremely kind!

Pros:
1. long way to Sahara and great to join a tour for the convenience.
2. the evening in Sahara is chill and beautiful and the camping site was nice.
Cons:
1. A bit unorganized and a lot of waiting then just rushes. E.g. whenever there is a toilet/replenishment stop, the guide does not specify at which time we should come back (sometimes he may say 10mins which he would not follow anyway). So there has been a lot of time in waiting and suddenly everyone had to leave right away.
2. Can only eat lunch in their picked places. The lunches are not included and we pay 120dh per person/lunch in their selected restaurants, when there could be other restaurants nearby for 50-60dh. It is totally ok to pay 120dh for a lunch, but the food was not tasty, typical group lunch buffets.
3. It is mostly about taking photos and go to their overpriced shopping stops. At one stop, while waiting for others, we wanted to check out the street stands (a few meters away) and were stopped by the guide from going, since there is a planned shopping place later. Same in the UNESCO site, it was only about walking (not much information provided by the local guide besides where to take photos) + their picked store. Instead of staying in the store for 20mins, it would be good to have some minimum freedom to check out the site/look at the local handcrafts ourselves.

All in all, it is a long trip and not much information was provided. Both nights, the dinners were served after 9:30pm, so make sure you bring a lot of snacks for the ride. All the shops we had to visit are overpriced, try to bargain if you really wanna buy. Otherwise, this trip would be great for energetic people that are into taking photos.

Although it is not our preferred way of travelling, we were able to see a lot in a short time (in terms of timing). We enjoyed the landscapes (mountains, valleys, gorges, etc.) despite having a lot of fellow travellers. The stops in between are more touristy (traditional Berber "village", argan oil production). When we arrived in the desert, we went to the desert camp on quads (extra charge). The organisation on site and the service in the camp left a lot to be desired (no tent on arrival for hours - we went sandboarding without supervision during this time and just did our own thing - even though I would have liked to change and put the luggage in the tent; in the morning there was no breakfast for our group (various places) despite our punctuality)
The Sahara and nature made up for the stress. In the evening we enjoyed some time together under the starry sky.
Thanks to the guides: Farid and Mohammed.
