For many visitors, Marrakesh's labyrinthine medina (old city) district is the town's star attraction. The narrow alleyways are a kaleidoscope of colors, scents, and sounds and are bound to be the sightseeing highlight of your trip.
As well as simply wandering (and getting lost) amid the bustling maze, there are myriad shopping opportunities, where you can put your haggling hat on and barter to your heart's content. Shoppers shouldn't miss the Babouche (shoe) Souk, Chouari (carpenter's) Souk, El-Attarine (perfume and spice) Souk, and the Cherratine (leather) Souk.
At the end of the day you will enjoy an imcredible experience by riding a camel

Great fun with a wonderful tour guide, Mly Abdeljebba Amid, who make Marakesh come alive for us. He speaks french, English and spanish and you can reach him at: bensasi@live.com.

The Camel Ride was the best! I enjoyed going to Marrakech Medina. Seeing The Tanneries, Souks, Raparts , La Bahia Palace and Koutoubia Mosque. My guide was
knowledgeable and friendly.

What a great tour!! The driver (Unnis?) was excellent. We enjoyed riding the camels and the tour guide for the market was very knowledgeable and personable. I would highly recommend this tour.

Warning: Round trip to and from is a total of six hours. Driver was fantastic.
Beware: Guild will take you thru market in a clover leaf pattern to make it seem that it is bigger then it is. Will take you to “special places” with “best prices”. Will attempt to delay your purchases till the end and go to a “special co-op”. Place is a pit full of junk.
“Special places” put extreme pressure to sell rugs, natural herbs and spices low quality materials.
Very disappointed in guild. Contact operator by e mail or phone to make sure that this doesn’t happen to you.

Warning: the drive is 3 hours each way from Casablanca. Driver was wonderful.
Guild showed market in clover leaf pattern and was attempting to make it look larger then it really was. Told group that at end we would shop at a lovely co-op with best prices. Place was a dump. Made group go to “selected” merchants and group was pressured to purchase merchandise.
Camel experience was great. Driver was great.

The drivers and guides were pleasant. The trip was a full day. The camel ride was sublime, and afterwards there was a delicious Moroccan lunch. After that, we ventured into Marrakech where a guide showed us several key sites. There wasn't enough free time to peruse the medina to shop for anything, and the guide stopped at a particular carpet vendor who tried to pull a hard sell. The same thing happened at a silver jewelry shop. I just told the vendors I wasn't interested in buying anything. We saw some cool things, but I wish I had a little more time to see each of the places we saw. Overall, I'd say it's worth it, but keep in mind that driving to and from Casablanca takes up a considerable chunk of the day.
