Learn the history of Morocco’s Red City at its main palaces and monuments. 1. Koutoubia Mosque
Koutoubia Mosque, founded in 1147, it is Marrakech's largest mosque and the landmark of city itself which has inspired other buildings such as the Giralda of Seville and the Hassan Tower of Rabat. your guide will take for tour here and offer so much information about it.
2. Bab Agnaou
Bab Agnaou is one of the 19 gates that allows you to penetrate inside the ramparts of the city of Marrakech. This gate (“bab” in Arabic) dates from the Almohad Berber period, in the 12th century. It served as an entrance to the administrative and military complex of the Caliphal Kasbah, citadel of power, from the south of the city. Flanked by 2 cannons, it is one of the most impressive gates of Marrakech.
3. Bahia Palace
The Bahia or the (The Beautiful) is an 8000-sq-metre, floor-to-ceiling extravagance of intricate marquetry, plasterwork and zouak (painted wood), and certainly one of Marrakesh's most eye-popping sights. Built by Grand Vizier Si Moussa in the 1860s, the salons of both the Petit Riad and Grand Riad host intricate marquetry and zouak ceilings, but the Cour d'Honneur, a grand courtyard, with its 1500 sq metre floor of Italian Carrara marble, is the undisputed highlight. Despite the vast area on show, only a portion of the palace’s eight hectares and 150 rooms is open to the public. Its grand spaces sometimes play host to important cultural events.
4. Souk Semmarine
After your lunch get ready to start your long walk tour in exploring and discovering all of the colorful markets or ''Souks'' Just follow your guide to discover the markets in Marrakech's Medina where Arab and Berber cultures explode with color, noise and originality. Smell spices, taste olives, touch leather goods and buy local handicrafts.
5. Ben Youssef Madrasa
The largest Koranic school of the Medina, functioning today as a historical site, the Ben Youssef Madrasa was the largest Islamic college in Morocco at its height. It is named after the adjacent Ben Youssef Mosque founded by the Almoravid Sultan Ali ibn Yusuf (reigned 1106-1142) It’s considered one of the best spots of the red city, your guide will provide so much information about it.
6. Jemaa el-Fnaa
From sunrise to sunset, snake charmers, storytellers, acrobats and street vendors animate the old walled city from Jemaa El Fnaa square. In the evening becomes a place for food, with small restaurants in the open-air. This is the main attraction of tourists in Marrakech.
7. Jardin Majorelle
Leave the old Medina and head for the Nouvelle ville to discover and visit this Botanical garden and artist's landscape garden in Marrakech, It was created by the French Orientalist artist, Jacques Majorelle back in 1923, and was only opened to the public in 1947. Starting in 1923, and features a Cubist villa designed by the French architect, Paul Sinoir in the 1930s. There is also the new museum of Yves Saint Laurent around the corner, a very well-curated museum and an opportunity to see YSL's brilliance and attention to detail up close. And the gift shop has a great selection of items at all price points. Together with Jardin Majorelle, It is a perfect highlight of Marrakech.
8. Musee Berbere Jardin Majorelle
The Berber Museum, inaugurated in 2011 under the High Patronage of His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morocco, is housed in the former painting studio of the artist Jacques Majorelle. It presents a panorama of the extraordinary creativity of the Berbers (Imazighen), the most ancient people of North Africa. More than 600 objects, collected from the Rif Mountains to the Sahara by Pierre Bergé and Yves Saint Laurent, attest to the richness and diversity of this vibrant culture, which is still very much alive today.
9. Musee Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech
Dedicated to the work of the legendary French fashion designer, the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech (mYSLm) opened its doors in autumn 2017. It houses an important selection from the Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent’s impressive collection, which comprises 5,000 items of clothing, 15,000 haute couture accessories as well as tens of thousands of sketches and assorted objects. The building has been designed by the French architecture firm Studio KO, founded by architects Olivier Marty and Karl Fournier. Situated on Rue Yves Saint Laurent, adjacent to the famous Jardin Majorelle, the new building spans over 4,000 m2 and is more than just a museum. It features a 400 m2 permanent exhibition space, showcasing Yves Saint Laurent’s work within an original scenography designed by Christophe Martin; a 150 m2 temporary exhibition space, a 130-seat auditorium, a bookshop, a café-restaurant with a terrace and a research library housing 5,000 books.
10. Gueliz
This is our last drive through the French section or new town. Gueliz is the heart of the modern part of Marrakech. Its main avenues are Mohammed VI and Mohammed V. Avenue Mohammed V is the one connects the Old Medina of Marrakech with the Modern town which is Gueliz itself. This area is where many foreigners choose to live in Marrakech, the wide, French-era streets of Gueliz are home to upscale Moroccan and European restaurants, cabarets and chic bars, as well as art galleries and mainstream fashion stores. Created by the eponymous painter, and later owned by Yves Saint Laurent. Lots Malls, Cafes, nigt clubs, restaurants and lots of international brands stores such as Zara, Diesel, Luis Viton, H&M and more.

I have mixed feelings about this one. First time in Morocco and with a great interest to learn about Marrakech in a more comfortable pace, this tour seemed very promising. The van was very comfortable, the guide and driver very polite. The guide was knowledgeable and we enjoyed visiting many sites, especially the Majorelle gardens and YSL museum. Skipping the long lines for tickets was a huge advantage on a hot busy day. My main disappointment comes from the shopping experience, which was unsolicited. by the way. We were led to the “Berber pharmacy” (Ksour) to “drink some tea” where some very quick and proficient sales people managed to rack up a bill of 220 euros for spices and argan oil. My good natured husband obliged, only later to read on reviews that this place is a famous tourist trap, if not a scam. The second stop was the carpet shop next door where we were literally bombed with mint tea and carpet history by a very pushy salesman who had the nerve to try and sell us a Berber carpet for 5.500 euros- a carpet that we later found for 1500 starting price. It was such an insult. I literally refused to go into bargaining and got up to leave but was made to feel apologetic and uncomfortable- and no one should feel like that on their vacation. Tours like these should NOT include obviously commissioned visits to shops - so if you do take it, I recommend to be clear from the beginning. Other than that, like I said, the tour delivered what it promised.

It was a great tour, totally worth it! Our guide Hamza was absolutely excellent and so kind! He was very knowledgeable and well prepared! We had the chance to take a good look of Marrakesh and the Medina. The only thing we didn’t like was visiting the associations (rugs, beauty products) - although we were asked if we would like too. The pressure to buy something from the people working in the association was quite high and on that we weren’t really informed beforehand. For the rest, great tour and Hamza is 10/10!

We had an excellent day touring Marrakesh with Tahar and Mo. They went above and beyond in their service from the beginning until the end of our day. Our favorite parts of the day included visiting the souks, Jardin Majorelle and learning all about Marrakesh and its people.
