Discover Ouarzazate and Zagora on this 2-day trip from Marrakech. Visit the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou fortress and admire stunning views of the Atlas mountains. Ride camel through the Sahara during the sunset. Savor a local dinner and breakfast and stay overnight in a tent at the Zagora dunes.
Day 1:
Begin with early-morning pickup from Marrakech. Travel through the dessert sandstone city of Ouarzazate. Stop at the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, where you will have free time to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Continue to the verdant Draa Valley, which is well-known for its amazing ksour and kasbah. Head to Zagora and make your way to the windswept dunes for a sunset camel ride. Make camp at a campsite in the Zagora dunes and enjoy a hearty dinner of local flavors.
Day 2:
Wake early morning for a typical Berber breakfast before watching the sunrise from the back of your camel in the dunes. Board the bus and take the road back to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains.

A must do when in Marrakesh! So much value!!! Despite long trips on the bus at times, the camp, camel ride, and music/fire was an incredible experience! Guides, driver, and musicians were so friendly and welcoming. Those travelling in December, make sure to bundle up as it was freezing at night (4 degrees). Another note, the restaurants they stop along the way are pricey and not very good so recommend bringing your own lunch/snacks if your on a tight budget or walk to other local places near by (if there is any). That being said, it was a trip we will never forget! Thank you for the memories!

We thoroughly enjoyed this trip, we had fun and felt the pricing was right. It's an early pick up from Jemaa el-Fna (7:30) and there was some waiting around for the rest of the party to show, so we didn't depart until 8:15.
This trip includes a very long day in a 15 passenger tour bus. You make some photo stops in the Atlas mountains, have a quick tour of Ait Ben Haddou (very cool) and lunch at a pre-determined restaurant, and do not arrive at Zagora until around 5:30 (Note: The hours may change as the days get longer).
However, the long ride is worth it as you meet your camels outside Zagora and ride through some farming areas and through low dunes out to the camp. You get to stop for photos at sunset and the camel wrangler takes some good pics. (Ride lasts about an hour). The staff at the camp are attentive and the experience is enjoyable (Note: In winter be sure to bring plenty of warm clothes as the desert at night is very cold). The beds are warm and comfortable and the camp is very clean.
The second day is a shorter camel ride back to meet the bus and then another long day in the bus. It's the long bus ride that drops this tour to a four star. If you have time for a three-day tour, it would likely be more relaxed, but if you only have 2 days, this is the one.

Pickup at 7:20, heading directly to the Atlas mountains for a little stop (for the views) and then for a coffee. Arriving to Ait-ben-.. before lunch, nice guide visit and food over there (not included either), after that we went directly (with two stops) to Zagora, for having a camel ride (sunset) to the tends (nice place and people everywhere). After that we woke up (to see sunrise) and had another camel ride to the other pickup point for coming back to Marrakech. Be aware of: - You have to usually give tips everywhere - You can pay with Euros at most of the restaurant and places we stop in the trip - It is a long trip, so you will get a bit tired. - Nice value for the money!!

The best activity in Morocco, for me the sunrise in the desert was a magical moment. The road is long, but there are many stops and many beautiful landscapes. The night in the desert is magical, the food and accommodation super ok. The only minus is the fact that, on both days, lunch is at certain predetermined restaurants with double prices compared to Marrakech. Ait Ben Haddou is also a cool objective, worth visiting

magnificent experience. You will discover the true Moroccan culture and breathtaking places. You will also be able to learn more about the history of the Berbers, they are adorable people, with a real sense of hospitality. And of course, we must not forget Karim, our driver during his 3 days of excursion, he was perfect, very jovial and expert in his field. (Don't worry about the language barrier, they are ALL multilingual in Morocco). And to finish the food, a real treat especially the tagines

We loved the scenic trip through the Atlas Mountains and our guide gave us plenty of stops for refreshments and to take photos. We really enjoyed the stop at Ait Ben Haddou but the best part was the camel ride to and from our camp site and some of us did the quad biking the following morning too!

Excellent ! The transport is great, we don't have to drive, we cross sublime landscapes, it's magnificent! The visit to Ait Ben Haddou is incredible, great guide - Ouarzazate not much to see except the film studios - and the night in the desert just wow! The camel ride joy and serious good humor to our guide great time with sunset and moonrise magical moment! Evening at the camp, meals, songs, dances, bonfire - shower, toilet, sink and NIKEL room! In the morning we climb the dune to admire the sunrise! Unforgettable moment - Nothing to say, everything was perfect

A big thank you to Saïd our driver for this trip and his thoughtfulness towards us. He explained to us well throughout the trip what we were seeing and even answered our questions. The camp was really great like our hosts. Great discussions and a great moment of exchange. The succulent meal like the breakfast. The show a beautiful moment of sharing. The camel ride is a memory that I will keep like my children. Be careful, the dunes are not like the photos but it is enough for a first time for children. The sunset and sunrise were a beautiful moment too. In short, thank you from Adam

If you have 1 day to spend on a trip around marrakech, then this is perfect! You can ride on a camel for about 40 minutes, walk through several berber villages and besides waterfalls and mountains. The friendly guide Abdull (He is the best) will lead the way and tell you some facts about the villages and culture. Also he will take you to a place where they make you some delicious berberfood. All in all, it’s a perfect day out around Marrakech'
