Incredible tour! Given the current limit of 116 visitors per day (2023), you feel the magic of the location. Note: Hidden beach is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
You can reach the pier by bus if you're in the Punta Mita area or by taxi/car if you are not. The Marietas are a <15 min boat ride from the pier in Punta Mita (much shorter than from Puerto Vallarta), meaning you're in and around the islands for the entire 2-3 hours. The ride is pleasant, and if you're lucky and in the right season, you may come across a whale sighting.
HIDDEN BEACH:
The swim through the cave to the beach takes 5-10 minutes; if you time your strokes with when the waves are pushing you towards shore, it's not very strenuous. Our guide had flippers and a lifebuoy ring in case you needed assistance. You are given a helmet so that you don't hit your head in the cave, but the odds of needing it are very low. We got lucky and were the first ones to swim onto the beach for the morning, making footprints in fresh sand. Our guide took a ton of photos for us (with our own phones) and showed us around. You only get 15-20 minutes at the beach per federal regulations, so don't forget to stop taking photos if you'd like a couple minutes to just relax! This is a truly unique and beautiful formation that has only been well regulated for the past few years, and it was by far the best highlight of the islands tour. In fact, I can see the international popularity of the spot growing more and more in the future, so please book well in advance.
After the hidden beach, the boat goes around the islands to show other cool spots. You see some blue-footed boobies and snorkel a bit along the way, rounding out the tour experience. Water and sodas were provided, while food was not. The tour returns by lunchtime, and plenty of restaurants line the pier in Punta Mita.

Overall a decent excursion, but wouldn’t say it was fantastic. The hidden beach is certainly a unique geological location and very picture worthy. It’s a brief stay however as was expected. The snorkeling was OK also, but also shorter than necessary. There was a third part going on shore to another beach which we were given an option to do or go to the other side of the island and look at some areas most people don’t see. We did see a couple of other rock formations but in hindsight wish we had gone to shore as we ended up spending a good chunk of the time seated in a fairly small boat. We mainly chose this excursion because it was the closest Marietas trip from our hotel in Punta Mita. The little harbor is pretty small and the tour operator is bare bones. Not much more than a shack behind a unbuilt hotel. There is a bathroom you pay 10 pesos to use around the corner not part of the operator’s. No towels provided so bring your own. Water and soda was offered as well as a dry area for bags. Snorkels but no fins provided, though the snorkel area and time allotted pretty limited so maybe it doesn’t matter. Overall a decent excursion to snap some pictures and do a little snorkeling with some fish life and close to punta mita, nice guide— but certainly not a luxe outfit.

We had the best experience ever, I was worry about ocean currents and Swiming into the beach which it a bit hard for people that are not good swimmers but Carlos our guide who spoke perfect English helped me get to the beach and I felt safe. The capital had perfect control of the boat and they were very knowledgeable of the area. We snorkel after the hidden beach visit where we saw plenty of fish, they gave us high quality snorkel equipment which was easy to use and was confortable.

Such a great experience! Our guide, Johnny, was amazing. He made sure we had a great time, told us all about the area and the animals we saw, and took amazing photos of us! Above all else, he made sure we were safe the whole time and you could tell he really respected the environment. We would highly recommend this tour. We drove by the large boat with hundreds of people on the tour and only a few tour guides and it reaffirmed that we made the right choice booking with this company. We even had the secret beach to ourselves for a bit. The captain was also exceptional!

All of the trip advisor reviews were spot on about Johnny and David. They were both amazing hosts.

Carlos & David went above and beyond! We booked rather last min - and David made it happen! Then the day of was incredible. David & Carlos were fabulous guides, personable, knowledgeable, & fun! We saw everything we could have wanted to and then some. They parked and took photo oops anytime with everyone. Highly recommend

Had a fantastic experience with Grimar for our 3 hour tour of the Marietas with hidden beach. It is absolutely worth it to pay the extra money to get inside and experience this beautiful spot, and the swim under the arch is half the fun. We had the beach at all to ourselves for about 15 minutes which was just magical. I’ve been to a lot of amazing spots and I was surprised how much this place touched me. My teenage sons also loved it. I would 100% recommend Grimar and this tour in particular to anyone. If we are ever back in Punta de Mita, we would use them again without hesitation.

Great experience! The swim in the cave to get to the hidden beach was a little intimidating but really worth it! All the beaches they took us to were beautiful and pristine. It was a small group tour so you really feel like you have the beach all to yourself.
Absolutely recommend this to anyone want to enjoy a private beach

Our guide Carlos was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and helpful getting kids through the arch. The snorkeling was fantastic with many different varieties of fish.
