Only 116 persons by day are permitted to get into the hidden beach. Because in Eco Explorer we have more boats with permits than other providers, we have more spots available per day for this activity. 96% of our visitors get into the beach.
As a commitment with conservancy, the park has been declaring a free of plastic islands, so it´s good idea to bring your own water container.
Our boats are fast, comfortable, and safe, our guides know perfectly how to assist you on the boat, during the in-water activity and hidden beach access.

Hidden beach access is available from Wed - Sun only. Deposit (25USD) of hidden beach is not refundable if you do get to swim to it. (Because of bad weather conditions or spots not available).
We also offer a private option up to 4 pax, this option offer more chances to access to the beach.

We did the snorkeling and hidden Beach tour and it was a highlight of our vacation. Bere and Nano were the best guides, both super knowledgeable. Bere was super easy to talk to and had amazing energy and spirit -and kept us all safe!

I went to the Marietas Island tour in January 2024. The experience was amazing! The staff with us was awesome. Rodrigo was super friendly, hilarious and made sure we were all taken care of. The views in the hidden beach and the fish and coral we saw during snorkeling was incredible. We were really lucky to have seen whales during the boat ride as a bonus!
There is a bit of swimming to the hidden beach required - you'll have to wear helmets (provided) to swim under a tunnel. The tunnel itself was really cool, and is not as intimidating as it looks. The rocks in the beach and tunnel can be kind of sharp so be careful.

We loved this trip! It was an easy boat ride out to the islands. We packed towels, hats, and our own water bottles. We out on sunblock earlier in the day and that was fine. They just said they don’t want you putting it on right before getting into the water. One person got a little seasick, but the other 9 passengers on the boat were fine. There are cubbies under the bench seats where you can put a backpack or bag and ours didn’t get wet at all. Flip flops are fine for shoes. You may want to eat a good breakfast since it’s pretty hard to snack on the boat once you’re moving. It’s not a super large boat.
The islands are fantastic. They’re preserved so there are a ton of interesting birds, crabs, etc on the island you can see from the water. We saw blue footed boobies. I had never been snorkeling before and got a little scared. Berenice was really helpful and stayed with me until I felt okay. She was super helpful to everyone in the group.
We got 30 minutes for the beach trip and it was great! They give you helmets since on the swim in, your head gets a little close to the rocks, but I didn’t notice anyone actually bumping into rocks at all. You get a life jacket and swim in. It can be a little tough for folks who aren’t really strong swimmers, but Berenice helped tug some folks in or out who needed help.
We put a phone in a waterproof bag/case thing and it worked great. You can kind of poke around a bit on the beach, but it won’t be a super long time. Very beautiful once you’re in there though.
We saw whales throughout the trip. It’s January, so looked like some mothers with newish calves. Very cool!
Berenice and our captain Martin took really good care of everyone! They had water and cups for everyone and sandwiches too. I would highly recommend this trip.

Excellent, fun tour. Our guide, Berenice handled one person who got frightened by the deep water, another who got seasick, and another who had a challenging time swimming out of the hidden beach, all with good humor and steady assurance. (We were all safe at all times.) She also shared a ton of wildlife knowledge on a trip that was wildly beautiful and fascinating. Our boat driver Martin was also great. Check-in process also smooth and easy. Only 10 people in our group, which was nice.
Advice: Bring your own towels, and shoe-wise, you don’t need anything sturdier than flip flops. Also, eat a good breakfast beforehand because there is not really a good time to snack on the boat.

Went for the 9am tour and was welcomed by 3 skilled workers plus the captain. Abraham took such good care of my young son when he struggled with swimming with snorkel gear. The boat crew was so much fun and even let me plug my Bluetooth on my phone so I could control the music in the boat. The hidden beach was a fun and unique experience. It was holistically fun and we got to see so many wonderful fish during snorkeling. It is helpful to be a good swimmer for this experience, even though not fully required.

This tour was the highlight of our experience in Puerto Vallarta not because of the snorkeling but because of the humpback whale that decided to come hang out with us for 15 minutes!
The smaller nature of this boat (13 onboard) and the tour guide and captain made it enjoyable. If you are an avid snorkeler, this might not be the tour for you. But if you want a little bit of everything that Las Marietas has to offer, then this is absolutely worth it! Rodrigo was great, he was very helpful in the water and helped us navigate into the hidden beach, took our photos while there, and showed us his “office” (a grotto that isn’t the easiest to get to). A larger group that would be harder to do! Knowing upfront that the Mexican Govt only allows you 30 min on the hidden beach is important but that is to be expected out of any hidden beach tour. We were happy this one started a little bit later as well (meeting 8:30, 9am departure). We absolutely got our moneys worth and Rodrigo and Captain (David?) made the most out of our time. We got to see other points of interest as well. They were very easygoing guys that love and respect the ocean and its wildlife. But again, the male humpback that came to hang out was, by far, the most magical experience of all. If you are considering going out on the Bay of Banderas during your time in PV, and you understand that getting to the Hidden Beach involves swimming in 80 yards each way in an ocean current with the aide of the guide, then I highly suggest this tour!!

This was a great excursion! We saw multiple pods of dolphins and humpback whales, as well as many types of birds and fish. Berenice was very knowledgeable and informative and took time to teach us many interesting facts. The tour around the island was stunning and is definitely worth seeing and the snorkeling had good visibility and many unique types of fish.
We had an 8 and 10 year old with us and the crew was great with them and we felt very safe the whole time. The sandwiches after the snorkle were yummy and a good size, so they hit the spot.
I would highly recommend this trip for anyone looking for a personal feeling tour in a small group.

Booked the Marietas Island Tour with Hidden Beach. Check in at the office was very easy and quick. The team worked together to be sure everyone was aware of the Environmental policies for protection of the wildlife and coral. Our guide, Nahom was amazing - very informative and had some jokes too! Javier and Lalo the Captain and 2nd guide were very friendly as well and on the way back they both looked out for any wildlife coming to the surface. We stopped a few times to watch dolphins and humpback whales - spectacular. Their commitment to safety and making sure everyone had a great time was impressive. I would highly recommend this tour group!
