This was our second time doing this and it was absolutely incredible. One of the highlights of Big Island for sure. It’s truly magical. The guides are awesome with great jokes and lots of good information about the manta rays and local sea life. Highly recommend.

We booked 6 pm tour. Checked in at the office at 6 pm and got a vest. Then we drive 6 minutes to the marina. There is hardly any parking left. Many people parked in “no parking zone”. We did the same. It is fine afterwards. The boar left at 7 pm. It moved about 5 min and we jumped into the water close to the shore. Immediately we saw large manta dancing around us. Our guide is very helpful and told us many information about manta while in the water. We were in the water about 45 minutes and saw 4 mantas dancing around constantly. Then we were back to the boat. I think 45 minutes in the water is good enough.

Very cool experience! Once in a lifetime will I ever get this close to Manta Rays, and they are beautiful! Chad is an amazing guide. My 14 year old niece was nervous when she got in the water and he talked her through it and she ended up loving the experience.

An amazing experience! The manta rays
swim so close to you they actually touch you at times. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. This was our favorite experience of our whole trip!

What an incredible experience to see the manta rays up close and personal! All the Manta tour operators have similar setups where you hold on to a light-up platform and float. You will be next to other people, your arms will get tired, and you will get cold (even with the wetsuit you rent). But it's all worth it if you see Manta like we did.

All the guides from Dolphin Discoveries were experienced, skilled, and informative. The guides were telling us all kinds of facts about Manta Rays as we watched the Mantas fly through the water with grace. There were many of them and some got extremely close to us many times. One even touched my husband. The guides know each Manta by their name and taught us how to tell them apart. The guides were also attentive: helping my husband retrieve his noodle that floated away, helping me adjust my goggles that were not fitting well, and asking if anyone needed to go back to the boat. The Mantas were just so fun to watch.

My husband and I agree that we will do this again next time we visit the Big Island. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

I had a wonderful experience with Dolphin adventures for a manta snorkel. Boat crew were all very nice, chill and professional. Chad swam in the water with us, making everyone feel comfortable and safe while filling us with fun facts. Worth the hype!
