Magical dinner show and camel ride with sunset in Agafay desert

Very good experience - polite and knowledgable team, good transfer, no being dragged to shops. The tent was in a great location and not at all overcrowded with a group of 20. Proper toilets on site. The camel ride was fabulous, the vantage point for the sunset was great, and the food was superb. I the only Agafey tour worth considering!

Very good experience. Pick up from the Main Square in Marrakech was a bit chaotic as all the tours seem to go from the same place at the same time so finding our minibus was a little difficult but we got there. 45 minute drive up into the mountains followed by another 20 minutes off road to the camp. Once there we were dressed in traditional clothing and off we went. Camel ride was great fun, lasted about 20 minutes then back for some mint tea. Bit of hanging round waiting for sunset then the fire was lit and the music began. Buffet was brought out and it was tasty and plentiful. Bit more music then trip back to Marrakech where we were dropped back at our hotel.
The size of the group doing the tour was 12-13 people, unfortunately my wife and I were the only English speakers but the guide did a really good job checking everyone was ok. The only real downside was that got very cold when the sun went down, even though I took a hoodie. Seems unfair to blame this on the tour company as they cannot control this but maybe have some blankets available for those that get caught out. Overall would recommend this experience and the the tour company that provided it.

This was my first tour in Morocco. It started at the planned time, having been informed by the guide Abdul Karim about what the route would be like before leaving. After that, the trip to the desert was calm and relaxed, complete with local music. After arriving at the first stop, we were able to take lots of photos, with the Atlas Mountains in the background. Afterwards, we went to the last place where we were going to spend the day, in a very large tent (with a large installation of bathrooms next door), with a privileged view to watch the desert sunset. We drank tea and ate cookies, offered by locals in the desert, and the mint tea was very tasty. The camel trip was in this location, with the announced duration, and we were offered the possibility of also riding a quad bike. We wore local clothes to ride a camel, and it was a fun trip! The people who accompanied us were very friendly and knew how to make conversation, especially to make people comfortable during the camel journey. The view from above the animal makes the experience very different. After that, we returned to camp, returned our clothes and I had the opportunity to talk to the other participants on the tour, take photos and enjoy the sun, while the remaining groups made the camel trip. When everyone finished, we sat around the campfire, listening to traditional music played by a local group. We were invited to dance and everyone had fun. After that, in the evening, we went to dinner in the tent, buffet style (everyone took what they wanted), with more than enough food for everyone (tajine, couscous, chicken, fruit...). After eating, we went back outside, staying around the bonfire, to listen to more music, before heading back to Marrakesh, where they left us near the Riad. It was an excellent experience, thanks to the good organization of this trip, especially to Abdul, Rachid and Annaz. Thanks!

What a magical experience this was! I had the most amazing time in the desert with our hosts, the Berber musicians were playing music when we arrived and we danced to our hearts content! And the night music after a lovely sunset camel ride and tagine dinner was also such an amazing experience. Thank you to everyone who made this so memorable and I can’t wait to do this again when I’m in Morocco!

Started with the departure on time at the meeting point clearly identified. We rode to the Agafai desert, 1 hour in a comfortable van. The desert is vast and pretty, just don’t expect to see sand dunes, is mostly rocky barrens hills that, nevertheless, had its own charming. We were greeted in the tents with tea and cookies, and pleased with typical music from local performers. There is no feeling of rush. Be aware if you do not book other activities but the dinner only, the spare time is more than 2 hours, waiting for the parties doing the camel ride and the quad bike ride. Just seat and relax, our host Rashid recommends to bring something to read. The diner was good. Tagine chicken and vegetables, fruits and bread. A little fest follows around the camp fire and finally returned to the departure point around 11. In general was a nice, different experience than we enjoyed.

We booked before our trip to Marrakesh with Travel Sky Morocco and Hicham was our guide. There are a lot of companies doing this trip. From the moment we were met at around 5pm our trip was well organised, in the chaos of traffic that is Marrakesh we were grateful that the pick up went smoothly. Hicham contacted us on the day of our trip by WhatsApp with coordinates of where to meet. After pick up we went to our first stop a cooperative where they make traditional products and where given tea. Then onto the Agafay desert where you can ride a camel for about 15 to 20 mins. I chose not to and that was fine whilst my partner did the trip which he enjoyed very much. Then onto dinner which was a traditional meal of a small soup to start followed by a chicken tagline with bread and vegetables side dish followed by a chopped apple and cinnamon desert. Portion sizes were average and for us plenty, you are also given water. Vegetarian options were also available. The site of the dinner is wonderful, a magical experience with music and dancers and as night falls small fires are lit. The view from the camp where the dinner is held across the desert is a must see experience. There is participatory dancing ( if you want to) and the night ended around 10.30pm when we were driven back to our central pick up point in the Medina arriving about 11.30 pm or just after. The whole experience was well organised with family groups and much older people all seeming to enjoy themselves as much as we did. We definitely recommend Hicham as a professional guide and think that the tour is pretty good value for money. We enjoyed the evening very much.

Beautiful scenery, good programs but very loose schedule. It was advertised with hotel pick up and ended up having to walk to a hotel to the other side of the town. The bus was not the most comfortable but did the job. My issue, that there was long waiting time between programs and it wasn't much communication or info sharing between the "Guide" and guests. Waited nearly 1 hour till the Camel ride, which was roughly 15 minutes. Then another 45 mins for the Quad, nearly missed the sunset between waiting and setting up for the activities.
The food was great, the "Berber" entertaining was nice ( not authentic ).
Overall we are glad that we did it, but should have organised tighter schedule.
