Meeting Point. Important to be on time. The tour departs on time. Meet your guide in Santa Ana Square, and set off on a tapas crawl of the city, exploring the best bars that only locals really know of. As you stroll, your guide will chat to you about Madrid, the local cuisine and, of course, the tapas bars that no great evening in Madrid should be without! Like all Spanish cities, Madrid has its own regional cuisine with an emphasis on use of local ingredients. Perhaps more so than others, Madrid has been influenced by its immigrant population, who’ve brought in flavors and ideas as cosmopolitan as the city itself. Visit up to four bars on your tour of the town, enjoying wine tastings in each. Sample beautiful Spanish wines made from well-known grapes like tempranillo, malvar, garnacha, and parellada, and enjoy a complimentary tapa (tapas dish) to complement the wine's flavors. I had been recommended this tour from an acquaintance and decided to book one for myself for a trip to Madrid. I was sceptical but decided it would help me go to places I otherwise would not have heard about, or missed and give me a better idea of what to do if I decided to go out to the tapas bars on my own later.
I arrived at the meeting point and it was pretty easy to identify the contact who was at the point, wearing a badge. Once greeted I was asked to wait at the side while he organised the groups with their respective guides.
I was paired with Ricardo, who was extremely friendly and I had many conversations with him over the course of the evening. In my group were 2 couples from Australia, an American couple, a couple from the UK, a family from Switzerland and a gentleman from Germany and the whole evening lent itself towards socialising and it was easy to keep the conversation flowing and discuss the various drinks/dishes that were being passed around.
We visited 4 different locations and Ricardo took the time to explain a little of the history of each place, before leading us inside and giving us a run down of what we could expect and taking our orders for drinks.
Each location had a different vibe and different offerings and it was amazing to see the differences between each and the stand out for myself was Casa Gonzales. Each dish we received there was fantastic, the waiter was flamboyant and friendly and I could've happily sat there the whole evening. But every location was great and each had their own merits.
The tour does double back on itself depending on your locations, however, done in a way that allows you to see more of the city/squares than just going from one door to the next so you don't mind a little back and forth, and it's never more than a few minutes walk. It also gives you a chance to maybe have a conversation with the guide or other members of the group and adds to the whole social event.
The tour ended in a more upscale location (Los Galayos) in Plaza Mayor with dessert included and you can either choose to leave once you're done or continue on with your night, own your own or with your group if you've made friends.
All in all I had a fantastic experience that allowed me to meet people I wouldn't have spoken to otherwise, try places and foods that I definitely would not have found myself and learn more about the culture and history of a lovely city and amazing places that we visited. All my doubts were washed away and I would heartily recommend this tour.

Noemi was our tour guide, and she was so knowledgeable and friendly! We went to some great restaurants, learned about the city and the culture, and enjoyed some wonderful tapas and wine! This was a great experience and introduction to the culture of wine and tapas in Madrid! I recommend putting this as a one of the first experience, as it could open your trip to many different culinary experiences.

Neomi was wonderful! She made beverage recommendations at all spots (you get to choose) and her recommendations were spot on. She was kind enough to share the best restaurants near where I was staying - and they were great!!!

I went to 8 cities in Spain and did tapas tours in each of them. This was my least favorite. The tour guide wasn’t passionate or invested in the tour like other ones I’ve been to. It was just a “job” they didn’t connect with the group or make an effort to. There was another tour guide who took another group and he was rude! Definitely the coldest, most I invested tour guides I’ve met. Tapas was mediocre and guide was rushing us along. I recommend other tapas tours but not this one.
