We had a wonderful time with our guide, Anne-Claire, who was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, entertaining, and a joy to be with all through the tour. We came away with an incredibly rich experience at the Louvre, with so much more insights about many of the great works, the interpretations, and the storylines, techniques, and hidden meanings behind each of them. Simply fabulous!

Our tour guide was Anne Claire. She was phenomenal. I had to be taken by wheelchair on this tour; something we did not know nor did Anne Claire until we got there. She was marvelous in both providing the tour and running interference with the Louvre bureaucracy to get me to all the right spots on our journey; finding all the little known hallways and elevators to get us through the labyrinth to where we needed to be. We had accesses few others had and in a very busy environment, she knew exactly what to do and to whom to speak to make our tour one we will never forget. She stayed with us after the tour to ensure I got to the right taxi access and into the vehicle. To say she went above and beyond would be an understatement. We will never forget the Louvre and we will never forget Anne Claire for making a hard journey very easy.

What a first tour in Paris! Afsaneh arrived 10 minutes early to our meeting place and we were off! She blasted past the line to get us in quickly. I learned so much from her. Then again she is a professor in history and Art...what more can you ask for? She taught us the proper way to look at statues which changed our perspective for the entire tour. Every question asked she had a detailed asnswer for us. Her passion for art and history really shined through. Can't wait to use her again next trip through!

Our guide, who texted us as “Juan” but was female showed up late. When she found us at the Louis XIV statue and used my name to do so, I asked if she was Juan because I had never met a female named Juan, particularly because she was clearly of Asian descent. She said, “Yes.” We proceeded on the 3 hr private tour in which she showed us all the highlights but she talked nonstop. Her extensive detail was so over the top that it substantially reduced our ability to truly appreciate the art. At one point she was so engrossed in her explanation of a piece she completely lost sight of the fact we had moved on to another as we could not take a 10 minute lecture that was borderline babble with enough art history words sprinkled in so as to sound intelligent. Also her equipment was antiquated and uncomfortable to wear for more than 10 minutes. It became excruciating into the second hour. Finally despite having amplification equipment, she insisted on standing within inches which was extremely disquieting. Even though Covid restrictions have been relaxed we were masked she never got the hint that she was being bizarrely familiar with total strangers. The Louvre museum and many of the works of art are breathtaking. The tour guide not so much.

Asfi Duffau was an AMAZING tour guide. Her knowledge, expertise, energy, and warmth are unmatched. When we return to Paris, we will request Asfi specifically. Our tour added tremendous depth to our viewing of the art an sculpture Asfi shared with us; we would truly have been lost without her. We feel like we had our own private art history course — taught by a professor from the Sorbonne no less!
