We were asked if we'd be ok to switch to the Las Marietas snorkel trip a day ahead of time since the Los Arcos trip did not fill. We did that one, and it was fine = a good group, great guide (Rodrigo) and boat driver (Captain Emilio). It was a long ride out & back (>an hour), but we saw dolphins feeding near the river outlet (including a baby!) and a large pod (100s!) further out. The birdlife included blue-footed boobies (a life goal of mine to see them). We were barred from the Magic Beach due to a ridiculous age limit (65 years) because one guy once had a heart attack = bummer. But snorkeling was fun - water was murky but there were lots of cool-looking and pretty fish. We only snorkeled for 40 minutes or so, but that was fine with me - just a lot of time going back & forth for such a short time in the water.

Abraham (snorkel master) and the dive master were really professional and fun annd really care to provide great experience. Abraham was just great a my 9 year old son. Great ecological teacher! He took us through a fun cave on Marietas Island at the beach. Total movie set experience. Conditions were sunny and 80 deg F, but the water was chilly. It didn’t matter in the end because we had a great time and saw a few humpback whales jumping on our way back in. One adolescent whale came 100% out of water! We were lucky to get a chance to swim into the hidden beach. I understand it’s a lottery system, so that was a bonus. I have much respect for the Abraham and the 2 other staff in the boat because I saw what great guides they are in the midst of a lot of responsibility with 8 smokers and 2 divers. They have to balance all the liability and encourage all to have fun and follow their lead in the water to see the amazing fish, blue footed booby birds and all the rock formations, etc. I’d recommend a 1.5 mm neoprene top for April for snorkeling. then from May on the water is warmer.

This is our second trip with Eco Explorers, and definitely not our last! The guides are knowledgeable, the costs reasonable, and the entire team from Wendy at the front desk, to our Captain, to our guides Rodrigo and Eric: they clearly show a passion for what they do and the company they work for. They also genuinely care for the eco-parks and share a strong environmental commitment to the places they visit.

I would highly recommend Eco Explorers for all of your Bahia de Banderas adventures!

We went to Puerto Vallarta for a week and thought a boat trip would be fun since I didn't get around to it on my last trip. We ended up booking this one the day before as it was my wife's first time visiting and we just had a loose plan for our time there. We were surprised to be the only ones on the boat for our trip - it turned into a private tour! We went on a Tuesday, so I'm guessing middle of the week trips might have less demand. There were so many options, but we are glad we chose this one! My wife had never been snorkeling before, so she was planning to stay on the boat most of the time, but since it was just us, Berenice was able to give her complete attention which was amazing. At Los Arcos there were plenty of fist to see. It was also fun to visit Mismaloya as well. Our second stop didn't have as many fish, but was still fun to swim around the amazing scenery. Also have to give a shout out to the boat driver Javier who got us close to dolphins and we also saw a humpback whale surface on the way back! I'm glad we decided to do this as it was one of our trip highlights! Los Arcos is great for beginners, we might have to check out Marietas Islands next time!

Amazing!! Highly recommend Bere, she was an incredible guide. Very knowledgeable and kind, and really tried to show us everything we could see given the mediocre visibility. Can’t control that though! We still saw huge schools fish and the arches were beautiful!

Wonderful time! So much information during the trip. Erik told us so much about the local wildlife and pointed out each fish to us. I’ve been snorkeling a few times and never have I had the experience of the guide getting in with us and guiding us through different fish etc. he was so nice and even the sandwiches were yummy!

The whole experience was great! From having fun at the boat and snorkeling through the caves.
We saw so many fish, eagle rays and a beautiful turtle! We went with Beni and Nahum and they were super nice and helpful.
And on the way back we got to see a couple of whales jumping from far away!
Overall amazing and would definitely recommend!

This trip was so worth it. It was not only snorkeling but also basically whale and dolphin watching. We were even lucky to see a turtle when we snorkeled.
Our guides (Berenice and Martín) were very outgoing and fun, making the excursion that much better. They were also considerate to offering to take pictures on the boat and when we stopped at a beach. Thank you Berenice and Martín! I’d highly recommend booking when visiting Puerto Vallarta.

Naomi was a great guide! He took the time to help with every little thing. Very flexible to do whatever we wanted to do. We could have spent more doing any number of things. Snorkeling through the cave, around los Arcos. Snorkeling to the beaches. He doubles as a pretty dang good photographer too! A hidden talent! Very attentive and friendly! Everyone on the boat crew and guests were just fun to be around. Sandwiches hot just the right spot toward the end. Highly recommend this excursion!

Unfortunately, we couldn't go to Mariesta as originally planned due to the hurricane. Instead, we were recommended to go snorkeling at Los Arcos, which was a very clean and easy experience for beginners like us. Ermírio,Nahum, Muchas gracias
