Through this experience you will be able to visit a traditional market in the city of Porto where you will have an introduction to the customs and traditions of the local inhabitants.
After visiting the Market, time to head to our space located at Rua do Pilar 80, Vila Nova de Gaia, to prepare a typical Portuguese meal, where cod cannot be missing. Participation in the making is optional, however encouraged.
As the Portuguese love it, after the meal is ready it's time to sit down at the table and enjoy the food, local wine and most importantly, the company.

We had an absolutely amazing time on this tour. First we met Nonu at the market for a tour and a wonderful explanation of the history and different characteristics of Portuguese food and culture. We then went to the cooking class portion where to learned to make some delicious dishes with Joseph and Nonu. It was entertaining, well taught and a lot of FUN!! We learned how to make Pastels de Nata!! Would suggest that anyone visiting Porto do this class!!

Excellent tour of Mercado and explanation of how the locals shop and prep food. Great cooking class. Excellent food. Learned so much of the culture and history of Porto. Guides were Nuno and Joseph, both very excellent!

This cooking class was one of the highlights of our trip to Porto! Meeting up in the beautiful market, taking the train across the bridge and then arriving in the stunning professional kitchen was just the start. The class was fun, hands on but not intimidating at all. With Nuno and Ze as our chefs/ hosts, everything was explained so well and answered all of our questions.
We met wonderful people, ate local cuisine and wine. It was such a great experience for my husband and I on our last day in Porto.

Perfect day, which started on time for the market visit. Followed by a short walk to the metro and a short walk to the premises… very well set up for around 2 hours of lessons, plan well! Thanks to our chefs Nuno and Josef, very good tips and perfect recipes.. yum!

Loved learning about the Porto fresh foods market. The cooking class was fantastic! We made traditional Portuguese dishes. The kitchen set up was perfect for our group of 7. Highly recommend.

Great tour and class by fun and knowledgeable guides. A great changeup from the usual walk and eat type of food tours. The market they took us to is the biggest one in Porto and the produce and products there are high quality, which makes for a fun tour (I wish we could sample more of the food we saw, but understand that would interfere with lunch which is what we cooked in class). Highly recommend for a fun and useful experience!

We really enjoyed walking through the market and our host, sharing with us the history of Porto. He was knowledgeable and funny. When we went to the kitchen, his partner was also knowledgeable and a lot of fun. Both did a great job of including the whole group and we enjoyed the others in our group. We came home with great recipes and skills.
