What a fantastic few hours with Jorge. We certainly wished we had more time with him. He has so much knowledge of the history of Lisbon, that we really only scratched the surface. (next time in Lisbon, we will be back for more). It was enlightening to understand what we were seeing, particularly in some of the cathedrals as they can be overwhelming, but Jorge was able to point our particular aspects and provide the context for them.
I would highly recommmend Jorge and this company.

We travel a lot and have visited a lot of cities, but never got such an amazing view of a city, than we got at our visit to Lisbon with Henrique yesterday. Not only did he ask us for our preferences to tailor the tour to our wishes, but he seemed to anticipate what we would love to see and showed us a lot of places, that you would not necessarily find on the "normal" tourist maps. Sooo many interesting stories about the people and history of Lisbon, time flew by and we had a blast! Henrique knows EVERYTHING about Lisbon and his english was impeccable. Thanks, Henrique for making our day in Lisbon an unforgettable experience!!!

I so thoroughly enjoyed Antonio's tour. He is kind, knowledgeable, open, and easy to talk to. It is a very well-planned route with pre-planned stops; at each stop, there would be a story about the two writers. Antonio also showed me source texts written by Pessoa and Saramago about each location/story, which I really appreciated. Lisbon is at the heart of these two writers' work, shaping their minds and words, and I felt fortunate to have someone like Antonio, who truly loved and knew their work, to take me through those streets. He also put their work into context, not only within the Portuguese history and literary lineage but also in our times, when views on many things are constantly changing. We also talked about other books we are reading, contemporary and classic films that we love watching, which was fun! He also so kindly answered my questions about Lisbon in general and gave me travel tips both in and out of Lisbon. I highly recommend anyone who loves literature and history to go on tour with Antonio :)

We had great time with lovely Sonia in Lisbon. We learned some about Lisbon's history, about buildings and monuments. We enjoyed local food and liquor. Time was so relaxed but goes by far too quickly. Booking Sonia as our Lisbon Guide was the best Idea.

Joao was great. He catered our tour to what we wanted to see around the city of Lisbon. We were able to explore a lot of neighborhoods we would otherwise not of known about in Lisbon. Joao took us to many wonderful viewpoints of the city and gave a lot of great suggestions of places to see. I would recommend Joao for a personalized experience of Lisbon.

We had wonderful tour of Lisbon with Isabel. She took us to major viewpoints around Lisbon. She’s so passionate about her city and it shows in her descriptions of the sights. She’s is very knowledgeable about history of Kisbon including the April 25,1974 revolution. We would recommend Isabel to other visitors coming to Lisbon.

We couldn’t be more grateful to Rita for making out trip to Lisbon so much easier and memorable. She is very knowledgeable about everything in the city and its history. I loved how she gave us a lot of tips on how to go about our trip like which places to go and where to eat - very helpful. And also, she sent us restaurant recommendations which is great. She is really nice and made us feel welcome and comfortable. I truly recommend to do a tour with Rita on your first time to Lisbon. We had an a great time !

António was our guide on our very first day in Lisbon. He was knowledgeable and tailored the tour pace and direction to our needs and interests. By the end of the afternoon we understood the history and development of modern Lisbon and Portugal and also a very clear orientation of the geography of the city so we could plan also the remainder of our stay here. We saw highlights, including heritage sites and other key Lisbon landmarks. António above all was very nice and it was a pleasure meeting him!

It was my wife and my first visit to Lisbon and one of the smartest idea we ever had was to get a 4 hour private tour the very first day. We have never used "Withlocals" before but navigating the website was easy and we found the type of tour we wanted. The next step was to select a time and then a guide. Not knowing any of the guides we searched by positive reviews and selected João.
That was another great idea. João spoke excellent English, was an expert about Lisbon, super friendly, asked what our goals were and then orchestrated the tour that exceeded our expectations. We not only learned a lot about Lisbon but were able to plan the rest of our visit in Lisbon and he made some excellent dining and tour sites recommendations as well.
We highly recommend João for guiding your through Lisbon as well as Withlocals for any other locations.
