I'm not a fan of food tours that take an hour to get a bite in front of you. I'm not signing up for a museum tour. I appreciate the extra walk around, but do it after I've eaten something. We also did not go to 'eateries.' We went to one place and had a few things, all good. But it was not a tour of gastronomy. That's just going to one restaurant and having a meal.

Pedro gave a lot of history of Lisbon and information about the foods we ate. It was a wonderful experience.

Lucia was wonderful, immediately diving in with local insights and pointing out many places to go and things to try. It was clear the restaurants in the tour were familiar with her and they had a great interaction with us. All of the food and drinks were delightful, and the pace was perfect -by the last sandwich we were stuffed!

This tour was very disappointing and quite frankly a waste of a whole day. Our guide Alphy seemed knowledgeable on some of the history but felt we were taken advantage on with the tastings. The tour was supposed to last for 3 hours and it was about half that. We were brought to one restaurant which was quite the "dive". He ordered about 6 items on the menu for the 5 of us and received one pitcher of watered down white wine. 4 out of 5 of us drank red. The food was so cold it seemed as though they took it out of a refrigerator. After he left, we looked at the items we received on the menu and it totaled maybe $30 as we paid approximately $300. I should mention Viator refunded half our money.

We were so disappointed by this tour! Firstly, Ana showed up in messy stained clothes that didn't make us feel like this was a professional tour guide at all.

Secondly, while she did show us a couple of nice sites and knew the history a bit, this was a food tour, not a city tour. We only got our first dishes an hour after we met her and it felt like she just randomly chose a restaurant and had us walk in.

When we got there she wasn't sure if the kitchen was open or closed, they initially told her it was closed. She didn't know how to order the food either, we sat there for 20 mins before she realised she had to go to the bar to order food.

She ordered us four tapas, but she never showed us the menu. I saw the receipt when she got it, it was 30 euros.

We were both very hungry after still and thought she'd take us somewhere for a main course. But she informed us it was the 6 tasting tour, but I checked my receipt and said it was the 10, but she said no it was the 6.

I paid £150 for two of us and to get 4 average tapas and then for the apparently '6th' tasting was a pastel de natas from the main shop near Baxia, the one that literally every tourist goes.

I felt like I wasted so much money on this tour. I had done food tours in other places (Venice, Paris etc) and they all cost less and I got way more and way better food!

Imagine a food tour that takes you to one average restaurant for a few starters and for a £1 pastry at the end!!!

That's absurd!!

On the day of the tour a bad weather alert was issue, and the tour guide contacted us to propose postponing the tour. While we agreed with the proposal, we couldn’t reschedule it due to our tight itinerary; hence we had to cancel. Now VIATOR said that we are responsible for the cancellation and they won’t do the refund. It is surprising that we are able to manage the weather, I didn’t know that I had that superpower.
