If you are in Lisbon for a few days and want to make the most of it, this is the perfect tour, since it combines the best of Lisbon and its surroundings.

Meet the historic district Alfama where fado was born, take a stroll through the narrow and labyrinthine streets that contrast with the immensity of the Baixa squares, such as Rossio and Praça do Comercio.

Then we go to Sintra is UNESCO World Heritage, capital of romanticism, place the royal family’s summer residence.

Cabo da Roca the westernmost point of Europe, pass by the beautiful Guincho beach and reach the village of Cascais, known for its bay where fishermen boats are still seen today.

The return trip will be made along the coast to Belem, where we will visit the famous quarter of the Portuguese discoveries: Monastery of Jerónimos, Belém Tower and Monument to the Discoveries.

1. Lisbon Baixa
Lisbon was the site of the biggest earthquake ever recorded in Europe in 1755, the prime-minister at the time Marquis of Pombal, took on the mission to reconstruct the city center which was completely ruined and devastated due to this catastrophe. And as such, the first modern European city was born: “Baixa Pombalina” with its urban and geometric architectural plan, it became the model used in the construction of other new cities, especially in the New World (for example Manhattan in New York, Chicago city center, etc.) In Baixa we will visit the famous squares “Praça do Comércio” and “Rossio” (statue of the first Emperor of Brazil, D. Pedro I), Rua Augusta (the most important pedestrian street in Portugal, with its famous Arch of Triumph.
2. Centro Historico de Sintra
Sintra is without a doubt one of the most extraordinary places in Portugal, mainly because of its microclimate that transforms this small town situated on the slopes of the mountain range “Serra de Sintra” and next to the Atlantic into a major attraction for visitors. Admire its famous castles and palaces or simply taste the traditional food, pastries, sweets and souvenir shops selling typical local items. In it´s historic center where you will have time to try the famous “travesseiros” and “queijadas” in the Piriquita Pastry Shop and explore the narrow streets of the most romantic town in Portugal.
3. Park and National Palace of Pena
The choice of what palace ( or palaces ) to visit its yours, the guide will suggest that it is best for you to visit between; “Quinta da Regaleira”a palace from the XIX. although it seems to be older, with a decoration that impresses, rich in Masonic symbolism, Moorish Castle a testimony of the Islamic presence in the region, built between the 8th and 9th centuries and enlarged after the Reconquest or why not the Palaçio da Pena, a a fantastical and revivalist reconstruction, to the taste of nineteenth-century romanticism, which was owed to the passion and imagination of the artist D. Ferdinand of Saxe-Coburg Gotha, consort of D. Maria II.
4. Torre de Belem

Such as Monastery of Jerónimos, Belém Tower, and the Monument to the Discoveries with the statues of the great Portuguese sailors and explorers, Pedro Alvares Cabral, Vasco da Gama among others. The must-visit will be to the famous “Pastéis de Belém”, one of Portugal´s most typical pastries/sweets.

We really enjoyed the city tour of Lisbon, Cascais, and in particular Sinatra. Our experience was made most enjoyable by our guide, Rueben. He was very knowledgeable, pleasant, and most flexible in fulfilling our requests.

We had a fantastic time with Alfredo. He was very knowledgeable, loves his country, and was full of great suggestions to adapt the day to our interests.

Our day started at Peña Palace, moved to the Quinta Da Regaliera and the stunning estate there. A great lunch in Cascais by the water. Finally we finished by checking out the hell’s gate and a leisurely drive back towards Lisbon along the water seeing old fortresses and learning the postwar history of the area.

Make sure you ask Alfredo to show you the secret magnetic anomaly in Sintra. Blew our minds!

This was an excellent trip. Our driver, Alex was informative, warm and flexible. He was happy to take us where we wanted to go. The trip was tailored to our needs perfectly. We ended up seeing three palaces and having a nice lunch. Perfect day. I highly recommend this company. I went with my husband and kids and we were all very happy with it.

Tour operator had an off day and only part of the tour completed. To their credit, the operator promptly addressed the situation and made things right, although our time was done and we could not see things that were omitted. Tours always somewhat dependent on the individual tour guide and, in this case, not the optimal person. Scenery and history was interesting.

the guide was very knowledgeable and professional. the car was comfortable and he gave me lots of opportunities to take pictures. The main reason i booked the tour was to go to the castle in Sintra but no one told us we needed tickets in advance. i could have done the same tour for less on the ship.

We had a great day with Manuel - we had a customized tour from Lisbon ending in Nazare. The tour company was wonderful - Hugo the CEO/manager was excellent at communicating and organizing everything in advance, and Manual did a great job driving and touring us around exactly where we wanted to go. He was able to accompany us into towns and give us information about what we were seeing, as well as restaurant recommendation for lunch. We had a van for 4 of us and our luggage, so we were very comfortable all day, with great driving. I would 100% recommend this company, we had a great day!
